Our school’s story

“Our first
and most important question is always: What is best for the children?”
Marlborough House Vinehall School brings together two prestigious prep schools, Marlborough House and Vinehall. The ambitious development sees the schools unite on the existing Vinehall site, building on shared values and traditions, marking a significant development in independent education in the South East.
As the first head of the merged school, I am proud to lead this exciting new chapter. I invite you to visit our beautiful site and see first-hand what makes us so special.

The hero of their own story
Prep Schools are wonderful places, and at Marlborough House Vinehall we offer the magical combination of learning and fun. I believe all parents want, and seek out, that balance for their children because it is what childhood should be – a time of innocence, adventure, the challenge of learning new skills, and with that the growth in self-confidence essential for progressing into their teens.
At Marlborough House Vinehall, our aim is to support every child to be the best version of themselves. We place value on preserving childhood, understanding the need for children to take risks and explore the outside world free from distraction. We believe that your child should be the hero of their own story; a story that unfolds as new interests are fostered and new talents discovered.
Alongside this, we see the vital importance in preparing our pupils to thrive in an ever-changing world: rigorous academics remain fundamental, but teaching pupils to think creatively, to build resilience and curiosity, underpin all that we do. We are unapologetically forward-thinking, planning a varied and challenging curriculum that allows your child to finish their chapter at MHV fully prepared for what lies ahead.

In today’s educational climate - impacted by changes to VAT, business rates relief, and employment costs, we knew that standing still meant falling behind. For us, quite simply, that meant merging our schools.
The sale of the Marlborough House site will allow us to invest directly in the future of the new school, with all funds raised ringfenced to provide long-term stability and continuous enhancement.
By joining under the umbrella of the Repton Family of Schools, MHV also gains the strength of a wider group and the financial security of a debt-free future, ensuring the best educational start for your child within the setting of a charitable trust.

Education is most powerful when it is a shared journey. Parents play an active role in school life: it’s a joint adventure.
We build strong, trusting relationships between staff, pupils and families. Children feel secure and supported, not only by their teachers, but also by older pupils who take on roles as buddies, mentors and prefects. These peer connections foster a strong sense of belonging and community, while helping children grow in confidence and kindness.

Stories to share

Traditional values are not just taught, they are lived every day in the way our pupils learn, play and grow together. They form the moral compass that guides our community and empowers our children to thrive in an everchanging world. It is through this values-led approach that each child’s journey takes shape, because at Marlborough House Vinehall, great stories begin.
