Lindsey gathered the kids near a grassy meadow. “Today,
we’re going to do activities that help us build friendships while we explore nature,” she
announced with a smile.

Lindsey set up a trust exercise. “One person closes their eyes, and their partner guides them through the meadow,” she explained. The kids giggled as they learned to trust and rely on each other.

The kids worked in pairs, gathering leaves, rocks, and sticks. “Let’s make nature collages together,” Lindsey suggested. Each pair created unique designs, enjoying the teamwork and creativity.

Lindsey introduced a scavenger hunt.
“Find objects like pine cones or feathers,” she said, “but remember not to pick anything that’s still alive or growing.” The kids worked together to find items carefully.

They held a friendly relay race, hopping over logs and weaving around trees.
“Let’s cheer each other on!”
Lindsey encouraged, and the kids shouted support for their teammates.

Lindsey demonstrated how to build mini shelters using sticks and leaves. “Working together makes it stronger,” she said. The kids teamed up, building little shelters and admiring each other’s creations.

Lindsey gathered them in a circle.
“Nature teaches us that everything is connected, just like friendships,” she said. The kids held hands, feeling the bond between them.

Lindsey encouraged quiet time with a friend. “Sit with a buddy and listen to nature around you,” she suggested. The kids sat quietly, enjoying the peaceful sounds together.

They worked on creating a line of rocks across the meadow. “Each rock adds to the whole,” Lindsey explained. “Friendship is the same—each person makes our group stronger.”

Lindsey asked,
“What do you appreciate about each of your friends?” The kids
took turns sharing kind words, building each other up with compliments and smiles.

At the end of the day, the group sat together, laughing and sharing memories. “Today, we learned that nature and friendship go hand in hand,” Lindsey said. The kids nodded, feeling closer than ever.

Think About:
1. How can nature help us feel closer to our friends?
2. What did you learn about working together with a friend?
3. How can you show appreciation for your friends every day?
Let's Work Together: Friendship is like nature—when we care for it, it grows stronger. Working together helps us understand and support each other.
I Will: I will appreciate my friends and work together to build strong, lasting friendships.
The Importance of Knowing: Knowing how to be a good friend makes our adventures more meaningful. Friendship is a special part of life, just like the wonders of nature.
