Teacher Squirrel clapped her tiny paws together. “Good morning, class!” she said cheerfully. “Today, we’re going to learn about something very important—sharing!”

Teacher Squirrel held up a basket of shiny acorns. “Imagine if I kept all these acorns for myself,” she said. “Would that be fair?”

The critters and children shook their heads.

Teacher Squirrel carefully divided the acorns. “When we share, everyone gets what they need, and no one feels left out,” she said. The children nodded, understanding.

A chipmunk reached for more acorns than his share. “Sharing means taking only what you need,” Teacher Squirrel reminded him kindly. “That way, there’s enough for everyone.”

Teacher Squirrel sat down and began a story. “Once, during a harsh winter, we critters shared what little we had. By working together, we all made it through,” she said.

The children decided to practice sharing by dividing a large pie. “Let’s make sure everyone gets a piece,” one child said. They carefully gave slices to each critter and themselves.

A young rabbit offered a carrot to a shy squirrel who didn’t have any food. “Thank you!” the squirrel said, smiling brightly. “Sharing feels good!” the rabbit replied.

Teacher Squirrel led the group outside, where baskets of treats hung from a tree.

“Sharing doesn’t just help others; it brings happiness to everyone, including you!” she said.

The group worked together, filling baskets with nuts, berries, and snacks to share with critters who weren’t there. “Helping others feels like magic,” one child said.

The critters delivered the baskets to their neighbors. “Thank you so much!” the recipients said. “Your kindness means the world to us.”
Teacher Squirrel gathered the group under a tree. “Remember, sharing isn’t just about things. It’s about sharing kindness, time, and love too,” she said.

Think About:

1. How did sharing help the critters and children in this story?

2. What are some things you can share with others in your life?

3. How does sharing make both the giver and the receiver feel?

Let's Work Together: By sharing what we have, we can create a happier and more caring world.

I Will: I will share my time, kindness, and things with others, knowing that sharing makes everyone’s life brighter.

The Importance of Knowing: Knowing how to share helps us build strong friendships and communities, teaching us the joy of giving and receiving.
