Emma crossed her arms and frowned.
“No one ever listens to me,” she said. “It’s like my voice doesn’t matter.”

That evening, Emma sat by herself, watching the magical forest shimmer.
“Maybe I’ll find someone who will listen in there,” she thought.

As Emma stepped into Critter Village, Mayor Coyote trotted over. “Hello, young one,” he said warmly. “You look like you have something on your mind.”

“I feel like no one listens to me,” Emma said. Mayor Coyote nodded. “Listening is a skill many forget, but it’s very powerful,” he said. “Let me show you.”

Mayor Coyote took Emma to the Town Hall, where critters were discussing a festival. “Watch how everyone takes turns speaking,” he whispered.

A rabbit spoke about decorating the square, and the other critters listened quietly. “When you listen, you show others they matter,” Mayor Coyote explained.

Emma joined a group of critters and practiced listening. She nodded, asked questions, and noticed how happy it made the critters to be heard.

Mayor Coyote said, “Listening is important, but so is speaking clearly when it’s your turn. Let others know what you feel in a kind way.”

The next day, Emma asked her friends, “Can we take turns speaking?” Her friends agreed, and they listened to each other, sharing ideas without interrupting.

After their activity, Emma’s friends said, “Thanks for helping us work together, Emma!” She smiled, feeling proud. “Listening really does make a difference,” she said.

That evening, Emma and her friends talked and laughed around the campfire. Everyone felt included, thanks to Emma’s lesson from Mayor Coyote.

Think About:
1. How did Emma learn the importance of listening?
2. Why is it important to let others speak without interrupting?
3. How can listening help you work better with friends and family?
Let's Work Together: By listening to each other and sharing our thoughts kindly, we can build better friendships and stronger communities.
I Will: I will practice listening to others and speaking clearly, knowing that communication is the key to understanding.
The Importance of Knowing: Knowing how to listen and communicate helps us build trust, solve problems, and create meaningful relationships.
