T h i s semester ’ s inte nt was to design a wa te r front de ve lopm e nt , for the bunde r are a in m angalore , which could boost t he e conomy of t he place by attrac ting tourists . We s t ar te d of f by v isit ing kochi, srirangam and po ndiche r r y for t he cas e s t udie s .

Then we were taken to dhak ke , w he re t he site is locate d for studying of the site, it s his tor y, cult ure e tc. I t was a fishing port area, where t he boat s us e d to dock and all the auc tion for the fi s h m ar ke t w ould t ake place .

The challenge was to de sign a prope r dock ing and unloading areas for t he crate s and at t rac t pe ople to boost the economy of t he s t re tch, w hile encouraging the local cult ure and habits to be com e k now n.

Shafts are basically provided so to connec t the pipelines from main water source to required spaces in a building. These require inspec tion chambers at regular intervals for the easy maintainance of the drainage system.
