RENEW, REFRESH, REVIVE. Spring is a time for change. Change of weather (especially here in Michigan), change of mood, change of wardrobe and change of perspective. Spring is the change that we look forward to after those long, cold winter months. We learned early in our time in VIM that change is a constant around here. VIM as a publication is always changing and improving with every semester and issue. VIM doesn’t only encourage change within the publication, but it strives to push every member and reader to make positive changes in their own lives.

6 VIM Magazine

When we took our positions as Editor-in-Chiefs at VIM, we were jumping at our chance to improve the magazine and organization. We couldn’t wait to put our stamp on VIM. Seeing our ideas come to life over this past year has been phenomenal and we want to pass this feeling on to all the future VIMmers. We focused this issue on new ideas, good vibes and positive change. We want to encourage every reader to feel confident and happy about the decisions you make in your life. We want you to be the best you. This may all sound cliché, but as two seniors graduating and getting ready to leave the MSU

nest, we are currently experiencing some scary change. Thanks to VIM, we are reassured that we will be able to find our right path. VIM has showed us that our ideas are valuable and that no suggestion or thought is unwarranted. It gave us a platform to create, inspire and build confidence. So thank you, VIM, for a fantastic three years and we can’t wait to see what you look like in the years to come!

I’M NOT TRYING

WHEN IT COMES TO “NOT TRYING”, A SORT OF SPECTRUM EXISTS. Grunge has returned to the streets, and it is better than ever. Now is finally the time to let the 7th grader inside of you know that she can pull out those old band tees and flannels, and rework them in a way that the supermodels do. The easy way to master soft grunge on the streets is to incorporate a band tee whenever you can. This staple is versatile in many ways with every outfit option being cooler than the last. Pair an oversized tee with fishnet tights and sneakers, or a distressed denim skirt and plastic choker to revive that 90’s vibe that the fashion it-girls just can’t get enough of. Whether you’re paying homage to Prince or The Rolling Stones, nothing says “I just threw this on, and now I’m fabulous” more than a vintage band tee. The best part about the offduty look is how your beloved, worn pieces are treasured and vintage…a welcomed change from season after season of coveting clothing that is clean, crisp and brand new. Another fashion rule that’s crucial in mastering the desired

8 VIM Magazine

“tumblr” aesthetic and infamous for being desired by millennials is knowing the power of a loose fit. Do not be fooled by the whimsical (and sometimes uncomfortable) femininity of curvehugging bodysuits and skinny jeans, because this spring is for the rebels. Creating an outfit from a loose fitting flannel shirt or oversized sweatshirt is like taking a page straight from one of Kendall and Gigi’s everso-chic fro-yo runs in Downtown Los Angeles. Bella Hadid, street style extraordinaire, turned heads when she stepped out in New York City in an oversized tee, sheer tights, combat boots and black fur parka… topped off with a top knot bun and sunnies— the ultimate off-duty ensemble. While the weather is still taking its sweet time reaching peak summer temperatures, comfy, less fitted clothing is a staple during such a bleak, transitional period. A patchwork denim jacket or leather bomber will always be the right move, and if you’re ready to dip a toe into the optimism of spring, accessorize with a bold leather backpack or brightly colored tote to risk looking too dreary (if such a thing exists). With a fashion statement inspired by skaters and hardcore rock fans, it may seem easy to fall into the dreaded “poser” category, but there is no crime in experimenting with a new look,

but... I’ve never heard of this band in my life, and I got this shirt at Zara.

especially in the name of fashion. When it comes to “not trying,” a sort of spectrum exists. If you aren’t looking to fully assimilate into the grunge lifestyle, Thrasher sweatshirts and all, feel free to sample in small doses. It can be as simple as accessorizing with a scripted beanie or wearing a pair of jeans that are just a tad more distressed than usual. When dressing for spring, you don’t always have to follow the rules and style expectations. Some people look at the rainy season as a way to shed the excessive layers of

winter and start fresh with everything bolder and brighter. On the other hand, there are others who shamelessly use the springtime as a way to quit being so contrived and dress in a way that’s as effortless as it is trendy. If you’re looking to loosen up and opt for a grungy, off-duty look, you’ll be in the company of street style stars everywhere. This season, let your hair down, spend an afternoon thrifting, revive your white Chuck Taylors and try grunge—or better yet, don’t try.

Believe it or not, warm weather is coming. We promise. With that being said, it’s just about time to change your wardrobe to something a little more appropriate for days that are well above a balmy 30 degrees. Whether you’re going somewhere international,

tropical, or even just to the Great Lakes this summer, let this season’s swimwear trends lead the way. To switch up the silhouette, and your tan lines, a one piece is the way to go. One pieces vary in styles, cuts and colors to match any mood or cover up you might have. They’re perfect for any beach activity that may be deemed as a bit too strenuous for a little two piece suit. Crochet, neoprene, and hints of mesh take even simple silhouettes to new, fashionable heights. Stick to neutral colors to better incorporate the different fabrics for a more cohesive two piece wardrobe.

Gone are the days where sweatshirts are exclusive for trips to the gym, errand runs and or lazy class attire. Think a comfy dayto-day go-to is only for the boys? Absolutely not. This season, the sweatshirt is having a glow up. While a sweatshirt is one of the coziest pieces to adorn a wardrobe, it is also one of the most versatile. From class to weekend wear to going out, there are many ways sweatshirts can be worn while not skimping on style, which is the best combination for a busy girl with a cramped closet. Coming up with ideas for a piece that has previously had a place solely for homework-ridden Sundays may be challenging at first. To dip into the trend, incorporate a sweatshirt with details that rev up its style. Lace-up elements have been everywhere this season. Mixing that trend with a new silhouette gives it life to keep it fresh and unexpected for the upcoming seasons. Pairing the sweatshirt with sneakers, high-waisted leggings and a backpack is a quick, easy way to get to class while putting your best style forward. One may think sweatshirts are made for one style, but being extremely versatile is an aspect that makes them perfect for anyone. For a more classic approach, pairing a sweatshirt with a button-down keeps the look streamlined and trendy in its own right. For those vying for a feminine look, it can easily be done. The trick is to find sweatshirts with dainty patterns or pastel colors and textures. When it comes to pairing it with other pieces, opt for girlish skirts, relaxed shorts or other types of bottoms with subtle details. Using other aspects of the outfit further transports the look to a more feminine realm. Taking the look up a notch consists of giving a nod to distressed styles. Yeezy may have capitalized the high-end market, but the possibilities are endless for a less expensive version that does not skimp on style. Paired with anything from skinny jeans, leggings or boots, depending on your destination, a trendy look is easily in reach. For an amped up version, look no further than an oversized style with overthe-knee boots. Both elements play on proportion, textures and overall silhouette. The peek-a-boo of skin at the thigh still keeps the look sassy enough for a night out, even though the sweatshirt is oversized and comfortable. Together, the juxtaposition of the pieces creates an effortless look that is nothing short of chic. Whether it’s for class or a night out, feminine or classic, sweatshirts are a staple that combine both style and comfort. VIM Magazine

it’s no surprise that outerwear has received their share of wrap designs as well. This spring, it’s all about wool blends, neutral tones and rope belts. Long, lean and blazer-like tailoring has also frequented runways this season. H&M, Topshop and Steve Madden’s wrap coats incorporate all three of these trends to give the illusion of longer legs and an hourglass frame. Club Monaco’s wrap coat will make you blush with pale pink hues for the slightest hint of color.

T R EN D WATC H Make your spring ‘17 wardrobe blossom with floral embroidery.

“Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” As basic as florals are for spring, this year is all about breaking the rules. You could look at florals as a way to accept society today and its rules for fitting in, but when is it ever fun to follow the rules? We know it’s sometimes hard to wear floral for the fear of looking elderly, but rest assured, florals are fun and when styled correctly, won’t look like your grandmother’s garden party ensemble. In Tim Burton’s version of

“Alice and Wonderland,” you can see the unique spring look of inyour-face floral patterns. The big, dramatic and vibrant flowers have a personality of their own. Black and maroon colors are prevalent in many of the looks too. The more flowers you have and the bigger the print, the bolder you will look. The key to pulling off floral is being minimal—let the centerpiece of your look be your dramatic floral prints. Wearing a floral blouse with a floral skirt is too much for

the eyes. Tim Burton loves going above and beyond and you should too. Being up-to-date and combining contemporary styles with floral feels puts you ahead of the crowd. Sheer fabrics with floral embroidery bring an avantgarde flair that is definitely spring-ready. Watch out. WO R D S : J O E S OAV E P H OTO : R I L E Y J A M E S

In the past few years, watches have not been a major staple of an outfit; however, they’re quickly becoming more and more prominent on the wrists of many men. In the 1950s, it was almost impossible to pass a man that was not wearing a watch—this is once again holding true today. Traditional-style watches are an easy way to top off most looks and you can find the right one to suit your style with little difficulty. Everyone knows of Rolex, but it can be difficult to afford a high-end brand like this. Brands like Daniel Wellington are making it easier to buy a quality watch that’s wearable day in and day out. Leather band watches create versatility and add to any look from shorts and a T-shirt to a business casual look. The traditional watch has, and

always will be, the perfect complement to an outfit. With technology taking over, smartwatches have burst onto the scene. While leather-banded and formal watches are making a comeback, any conversation of this topic would be incomplete without mentioning the new wave of smartwatches. The Apple Watch led the wave when it debuted in April of 2015; it is the watch that other brands have been trying to mimic ever since. Its sleek look and modern features are what makes it so desirable, and their place at the top has been further solidified with the release of the Apple Watch 2. Fitness tracking and waterproofing are just some of the features that have drawn people in. Luxury brands have also taken note of the smartwatch trend and have released their own lines of smartwatches. Designer names

have released watches that appear to be a normal watch, but upon closer look are, in fact, watches with an interactive face. These brands plan to enhance their product to compete with the Apple Watch. For smartwatches, the future looks bright. Whether it’s a typical day or whether you’re going to a formal event, a watch is a staple that is often overlooked, but can easily tie any outfit together. For day-to-day wear, a leather band or smartwatch is the way to go, but for a more formal look, brands like Bulova and Rolex are timeless. VIM Magazine

AND THE WINNER IS

HEALTH WITHOUT BORDERS Health Without Borders at MSU is a student organization looking to combat this deadly disease. The fight for clean water is critical as cholera affects people of all ages. In some developing countries, schools in impoverished areas have little to no clean drinking water, putting even a child’s education at risk. This year, Health Without Borders aims to raise awareness and funds for the water-borne disease in the village of Gurdaspur in Punjab, India. This cause hits home for President and Founder of Health Without Borders, Parul Gupta. Parul’s grandmother lives close to the village of Gurdaspur, which is directly impacted by a lack of access to clean water and the effects of cholera. Health Without Borders began when Parul had a conversation with her grandmother regarding the decline of public health in the region. This struck a chord with Parul who sees just

663 million people in the world do not have reliable or any access to clean sources of drinking water, according to the World Health Organization. Cholera, a disease caused by this lack of access to clean drinking water, exists in up to 4 million cases globally with up to 143 thousand deaths in a single year. The disease can be fatal within hours if left untreated.

how often safe drinking water is taken for granted in the United States. Everyday, people buy water bottles instead of using drinking fountains or reusable water bottles. Those in impoverished regions don’t have this luxury, nor do they even have clean water to drink. As a result, Health Without Borders was formed to combat this issue. The club hopes to make even a small difference in the lives of those in need.

The goal of HWB is to raise $10,000 to provide water coolers and filters to schools and communities. This year, Parul will travel to the village of Gurdaspur, visiting three schools and one orphanage to help a total of 500 children. As a result, Health Without Borders will impact a community of about 1,500 residents by providing them with the tools they need to acquire safe drinking water. Want to get involved? Join Health Without Borders, participate in their fundraisers or donate. Any student of any major is welcome, and Health Without Borders enjoys the contribution of ideas by all members as the organization continues to grow. In the future, they hope to send general members abroad to gain hands-on volunteering experience and to continue to make a difference around the world. VIM Magazine

The first few showers weren’t particularly noteworthy, aside from noticing that my hair looked shinier and felt smoother. I did, however, find that the shock of cold water forced me to take showers that were almost 10 minutes shorter than usual, which saved both water and time. S H O W E R S 6 -1 0 When I was about halfway through my experiment, I noticed a reduction in the dryness and irritation that would normally be

44 VIM Magazine

caused by hot water. There was also a noticeable reduction in facial redness that I’d be left with after a hot shower. At this point, the cold was more liberating and energizing than miserable, which was unexpected. S H O W E R S 11 -1 5 Showers were not only tolerable at this point, they had actually become enjoyable, in a strange way. I’ll elaborate before you decide that I’m out of my mind. Aside from my skin and hair being less dry and overall healthier-looking, my mental health was also benefiting. After morning showers, my energy and wakefulness could have rivaled a cup of coffee. Additionally, there was a noticeable increase in mental clarity; this made sense,

since I’d normally leave hot showers feeling more groggy than before getting in. I also noticed that a radical shift in something so habitual (such as taking warm showers) had also helped me break out of my everyday routine. As strange as it seems, I had more motivation to leave my comfort zone much more frequently than usual throughout the day. WRAP-UP Ultimately, the challenge was successful. It tested my self-control; I’d even go so far as to say that it was “meditation.” My mental clarity, energy level, skin and hair all benefited. All things considered, I’ve decided that my little sister will no longer be the only one dictating when my showers are cold.

It’s no secret that charcoal is heralded as the holy grail of natural treatments. There is an eclectic array of charcoal-based beauty products on the market. From cleansers to body scrubs to even hair texturizers, the multifunctional ingredient proves it’s packed with endless benefits. Now to be clear, we are talking about food-grade, activated charcoal—not the one that is reminiscent of summer barbeques and picnics. This kind of charcoal is loaded with toxins and chemicals, so beware when perusing ingredients for your DIY treatments! Activated charcoal, on the other hand, is treated to increase its adsorptive capabilities transforming it as a magnet to draw out dirt, oil and other impurities. This means that those with oily or acne-prone skin will be reaching for this whenever their skin needs an extra detox. However, the beauty benefits don’t just stop there. Below is a list of a few ways you can incorporate activated charcoal into your daily routine along with a DIY mask that will have you craving a pamper night every night. *Activated charcoal is available in capsule, tablet or powder form on Amazon or from your local health food store.

MAKE YOUR OWN

1

TEETH WHITENER

Combat stained teeth by dipping your wet toothbrush into powdered activated charcoal and brush teeth as normal. The charcoal helps prevent cavities, bad breath and gum disease; however, use with caution if you have crowns, caps or porcelain veneers as the charcoal may stain them.

2

ADD VOLUME TO HAIR

3

PURIFYING FACE MASK

Regular shampooing may not get all the dirt and excess product out of your hair leaving it feeling heavy. Cleanse with activated charcoal and your hair will feel lighter, resulting in more volume. The activated charcoal helps deep clean and reduce pores, clearing your skin of uneven texture. Pair it with bentonite clay (a healing clay that shares similar properties) and your skin will look and feel smoother.

INGREDIENTS 1 tablespoon of activated charcoal powder ½ tablespoon of Bentonite clay (available wherever the charcoal is sold)

Water (enough to create a paste) DIRECTIONS Smooth the mixture onto your face and leave on for 10 minutes or until dry. Wash off with warm water and gently pat dry your face. Follow up with moisturizer or face oil.

Binding beauty Have you ever met those people who just seem to glow (without the 3 layers of highlighter)? Well, it seems that we might need to take a new outlook on our beauty routines to find that perfect glow. From the words of Gwyneth Paltrow, “feeling good and looking beautiful doesn’t begin with the perfect hair and makeup—it ends there.” Here are some books to show you new ways to see makeup, from the history of the makeup brush, to the foods you eat and how to be confident in your own skin. WORDS: MADDIE PEW P H O T O : R A FA E L AV C I O G L U

“EAT PRETTY” by Jolene Hart Hart believes that beauty truly starts from the inside and works its way out. She discusses how nutrition and beauty go hand-in-hand and how to use food and health as a way to benefit your skin, nails, hair and beauty routine. “BLOOM” by Estée Lalonde Beauty blogger Estée Lalonde has over one million subscribers on her YouTube channel. She wrote her book, “Bloom,” as an inside look into her life and her love for beauty. Estée shares her favorite looks, products and routines for pampering. Although she might not currently have the most traditional job, there’s a lot we can relate to when she shares her life of growing up and falling in love. The book also gives many examples on how beauty comes from confidence and makeup isn’t just a cover-up, but also an expression. “FACE PAINT: THE STORY OF MAKEUP” by Lisa Eldridge Each page in this book is its own art piece. This book gives the history behind the art form of makeup, with roots all the way back to the Egyptians. It shows a background of how makeup has been used and teaches you how to appreciate that tube of red lipstick in the bottom of your bag.

Let’s talk about gains The newest trend isn’t a product or a style: it’s a goal. Today, people hope to gain muscle, not lose inches. These goals aren’t necessarily exclusive, but the difference is the mindset. People are beginning to train and workout with the goal of gaining strength rather than looking like a certain person or body type. Welcome to the new millennia, where we talk about gains, not losses. Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon and whether you’re trying it because it’s a trend or because you’re inspired to change your workout, the results are worthwhile. But most importantly, lifting isn’t about shaming those who are naturally skinny to get bigger or to pressure bigger people into slimming down; it’s about making our bodies more capable. WO R D S : C L A U D I A A L LO U | P H OTO : M A RYA M R A Z Z AQ B E A U T Y: M A L LO RY M A X TO N

Here are four great reasons to start lifting weights:

1

LIFTING WEIGHTS WILL BURN MORE FAT FOR A LONGER TIME

When you are lifting weights, you are constantly constricting and releasing the muscles. On a biological level, you are tearing the muscle fibers so they need to repair and grow, and our bodies have to keep working after the exercise to heal. That extra work means more calories are being used mainly from fat stores.

2

HAVING MORE MUSCLES IS MORE FUNCTIONAL AND ALLOWS US TO LIVE LONGER.

Having muscle will likely lead to a lean body, but unlike cardio alone, lifting weights allows our body to do more. From lifting heavy boxes, pulling the cork out of a wine bottle, to picking up a child, lifting will help you achieve it. When your body is in its best form, you’ll feel better and increase your chances of living out a longer and healthier life.

58 VIM Magazine

3When most people go on a

LIFTING WEIGHTS IS QUICKER

run, an hour is considered to be the minimum workout time. But with lifting, workouts can be as short as 30 minutes and be just as effective. Long workouts don’t always mean better workouts.

4

GOING TO A GYM ISN’T NECESSARY

You don’t need to go to a crowded gym to lift if you don’t want to. All you need is to purchase some 8lb. dumbbells or a 15 lb. kettlebell to get started. There are plenty of lifting workouts that will still burn and earn results and don’t require fancy machinery. PRE-WORKOUT MEAL OPTIONS: Banana Apples and peanut butter Greek yogurt with fruit and granola Oatmeal with fruit

How to get started If you want to get serious, like barbell serious, get a trainer. First, you must decide on the kind of gym you want. Your options are conventional gyms, like Planet Fitness or LA Fitness, specialized gyms, like Crossfit or Barbell Brigade, or even your home. Planet Fitness or LA Fitness are best for those who prefer working alone, but for those who like having a coach watch them closely or enjoy being part of a team, find a local crossfit gym or a gym like Barbell Brigade. Either way, if this is something you want to commit to, find a coach. When starting at a new gym, the gym may require a beginner’s training or offer a training session. Accept it and tell them what your goals are. If you aren’t necessarily interested in using a barbell, there is no need. Kettlebells and dumbbells are efficient for lifting and require a little less technique. The best part is that you can do it at home. The most important part about lifting is enjoying the workout. Lifting is meant to be empowering. It’s about showing yourself that you are capable of anything. Our bodies are beautiful no matter how they look or whether they are traditionally able bodied or not, because your body is capable of more than you give yourself credit for.

Growing up I had the most difficult hair and it was hard to find a stylist that could do my hair the way I wanted. Every time I got home from the salon, I would have to fix my hair. I wondered how many women had to do the same. I really want to achieve each client’s hair goals. I want to make them become a better version of themselves. Q: Where do you get your inspiration? A: I get my inspiration from everywhere and everything: music, art, fashion, makeup, the Internet. The Internet is a huge help!

Q: What is the difference between a Brazilian Blowout and a Keratin Treatment? Which do you prefer? A: The Brazilian Blowout I like to use for clients with coarse, curly hair. The Keratin treatment I use more for fine, damaged hair. They’re both great, just depends on the client’s hair.

Q: You often share your passion for learning new hair techniques and perfecting your skills on social media, what motivates you to keep learning and pushing yourself? A: What motivates me is putting a smile on someone’s face. People normally come to me to fix their hair whether it is the cut or color. My clients want change so I have to stay on top of all the latest trends and techniques.

Q: How has social media impacted your career as a stylist? A: Social media has helped my career a lot! It is an amazing feeling when I get clients off my social media. Social media let’s me reach the right crowd.

Go Viral with Spirals In our day-to-day lives we constantly try to find the balance between making a delicious dish that is both healthy and quick. The newest trend in food culture sweeping Instagram foodie accounts, and making us salivate while scrolling is zoodles! Zoodles are noodles made from zucchini that has been spiralized. They are a nutritious way to trick yourself into thinking you’re indulging in your favorite carbs. Zoodles are a versatile staple in any dish and can be combined with different flavors that give to-die-for results. Here is VIM’s take on a fun avocado sauce and veggie zoodle dinner recipe that can easily transform into a breakfast on the go. TURN ON YOUR TASTE BUDS

For the spiralizing: We recommend purchasing a cheap spiralizer to make your favorite fruit and veggie spirals. Check out inexpensive options available on Amazon. The first step is to spiralize the zucchini. Cut one of the rounded ends off the zucchini to have a flat surface to mount to the spiralizer. Once you’re in position, crank it! For the avocado sauce all you need is 5 simple ingredients (serves 2): ⅓ cup water 2 tbsp lemon juice 1 avocado 4 tbsp pine nuts (or other nuts of your choice, walnuts and cashews are yummy too!) 1 ¼ cup basil

1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and create your zoodle sauce. 2. In a large skillet combine your zoodles with your favorite veggies. We used tomatoes, onions and peppers. Sauté until tender and then add your sauce. Voilà! Dinner is served. 3. Once you find yourself so full that you’re tempted to undo your belt buckle, transform your leftovers into tomorrow morning’s breakfast. Combine your leftovers with a handful of scrambled eggs or egg whites, add some cheese for taste (we recommend feta) and pour the mixture into a muffin tin. Bake your zoodle egg cups at 350 degrees for approximately 15 minutes. Once done, pop them in a tupperware container in the fridge and they’re ready to be microwaved in the morning for a quick breakfast! VIM Magazine

21 days later Motivation gets you started, but habits keep you going (just make sure they’re the right ones). W O R D S : K AT E S O AV E PHOTO: ISA BEL INC H AUSTEGUI

Have you always hated how you can’t resist biting your nails? How about that tendency to procrastinate until the last second? Everyone has a habit that they wish they didn’t, so why don’t we change? The answer lies in the science of habit, as does the answer to: how do I change my habits? In Charles Duhigg’s 2012 book, “The Power of Habit”, he discusses the science behind habits we form and perform everyday. According to Duhigg, you can break down a habit into three parts: the cue, the

76 VIM Magazine

behavior and the reward. Put these all together and you have what’s called a “habit loop”. This becomes subconscious over time. The good news is that “it’s never too late to break a habit”. In his book, he also discusses ideal situations for changing a habit, like vacation. While on vacation our brain naturally switches up our patterns without us realizing it because our normal cues aren’t there. This is why vacations seem so relaxing, and why it’s a good place to quit a bad habit. So how can we use this information in our own lives? Say you want to work out more and you also feel that your Netflix habit is negatively affecting your grades. Maybe the next time you automatically open your laptop for Netflix, force yourself to break the cue and head to the

gym. Then you are replacing a bad habit with a better one, and eventually, the cues will change. The next component to this process is how long it takes for this new routine to become a habit. In a study done by researchers from University College London, the average time it took for a new habit to become the norm was 66 days. At that point, you most likely won’t have to struggle as much to resist the cue for the bad habit, and it won’t be so difficult to follow the cue for the new habit. Science also suggests it’s easier to break a habit when replacing it with a new one. When breaking a habit, the key is to identify the cue. Does seeing a slice of pizza trigger you to have a bite? By recognizing this pattern, you can think twice the next time the habit loop is cued. If you

SLUG recognize a cue, you can hijack the process before it begins. This isn’t easy, since habits are worked into our brain processes and take little to no thought to carry out. Even better, when you see that slice of pizza and recognize that you always want to indulge, consciously decide to cue a better habit that you want to incorporate. For example, see the slice of pizza, recognize the cue and consciously direct the brain to the salad bar to fill the daily requirement of vegetables. This will make it easier to break the bad habit of eating unhealthy by forming a new habit of meeting your daily requirement for vegetables. By day 66, you’ll find your

MAYBE THE NEXT TIME YOU AUTOMATICALLY OPEN YOUR LAPTOP FOR NETFLIX, FORCE YOURSELF TO BREAK THE CUE AND HEAD TO THE GYM.

reaction is almost immediate. So the next time you notice that you’re suffering from one bad habit or another, choose a habit that has an opposite result and replace it. Not only will you be ridding yourself of a habit that you think is detrimental, but you will also be able to benefit from the process by incorporating something better.

They felt that Michigan was missing this and saw the need for a good, Italian coffee shop. In response to why coffee and gelato, Nick Lemmer responded: “Why not!” And we could not agree with him more.
