Unconditional love – the greatest treasure
What would you consider to be your most treasured possession? It might be a piece of jewellery handed down through the family. Perhaps an autograph of a famous sportsperson. The first drawing your child drew at pre-school. A letter written by someone you love. The list will be as long as the individuals reading this article.
In treasuring there is a sense of being held dear, protected, and valued beyond measure. Many of us have experienced the gift of being treasured as a person. A sense of unconditional love that makes us feel deeply valued and cherished. For others there can still be the wait for another to treat us in that way.

The Bible paints a picture of a God who treasures us in a way that is so deep and powerful. We are known to him as individuals and held in eternal love that none can separate us from.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life,… neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Bible: Romans 8:38-39 – New International version
As we reflect on how we focus on all that we treasure we may find our hearts seeking that heavenly love that puts us at the centre.
