State of the City: Menifee looks to progress, partnership, posterity Jacob Preal WRITER
Menifee Mayor Scott Mann presented the city’s eighth annual State of the City address June 16 to discuss the direction the city is headed. Progress, partnership and posterity reign supreme in Menifee as the growing city continues to explore new avenues for development in the face of financial shortcomings. “P3” is Mayor Mann’s answer to the secret to Menifee’s success, with a booming economy and improving quality of life. The city boasts 110 active projects citywide and 14 completed community services this year. Despite setbacks imposed by outside circumstances and a projected $20 million deficit in five years, the city and its citi-
zens have positive aspirations for the future. “Many of our neighbors have asked me…‘What is Menifee’s secret?’” said Mann. “Well I’ll let you in on that. It’s been a forward momentum of our vision with progress, partnership and posterity. What I like to call ‘P3.’” The city continues to grow with over 35,385 rooftops in the city at a $350,000 median selling price. According to the Building and Safety Department, residential permits are up by 28 percent and commercial permits saw a 60 percent increase with a total permit value of over $60 million. Business licenses have also increased 41percent. In a video, each Menifee council
