Chocolat 2000 Director: Lasse Hallström In this “stranger comes to town” film, Juliette Binoche plays an itinerant chocolatier who opens a confectionery in a tiny French village, unleashing the appetites of the townspeople and the wrath of its ultraconservative mayor. Nominated for five Academy Awards and four Golden Globes, the movie skillfully depicts the provincial charms of village life. Johnny Depp and Judi Dench also star.

Filmed in Flavigny-sur-Ozerain in Burgundy, and on the Dordogne River.
