Selecting the Right Vision Measuring System
There are seven things to consider when selecting the right vision measuring system for your application:
Part Weight Since vision measuring systems require a working phase of the glass so that light can pass through, there is a limit on the weight of the part that these systems can handle. While smaller systems can easily handle up to 15kgs, larger systems can take up to 30Kgs. For weights over that limit, the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) is the best option.
Part Size The portion size determines the XYZ measuring range of the system. Check the largest part you want to measure and specify the required measurement range for each axis accordingly.
Feature Size The dimensions of the features on the part will dictate the optical magnification, screen size, and resolution of the scale. Specify the dimension of the smallest feature you want to measure and the provider will suggest the most suitable configuration for you.
