Services Veteran’s Advocate SERVING THOSE WHO SACRIFICED

Gabriel Lenhart, founder of Lenhart Legal Services, has also received and maintains his VA Attorney Accreditation from the United States Department of Veteran’s Affairs! As such, Gabriel has been admitted to practice in front of the Department of Veteran’s Affairs, and also provides free education and assistance to Veterans applying for their Non-Service Connected Aid and Attendance Benefits.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has a little known tax-free pension available to help

qualified veterans, spouses, and their surviving spouses pay for home health care, assisted living, or nursing home care.

The VA Aid & Attendance & Housebound Pension is designed to provide qualified veterans and their un-remarried surviving spouses with financial benefits outside of the traditional VA residential system. This Non-Service Connected pension was established in 1952 under Title 38 U.S.C. and has two components, Aid & Attendance & Housebound benefits.

Whether it was doing yard work for senior citizens in Grass Valley as a child member of Athletes With A Cause, tutoring underprivileged children when I was attending San Diego State University, or volunteering at the Victims of Crime Resource Center in Sacramento during law school, I have always made it a point to help others in the community however I can. There are many different kinds of Trusts, some more complex than others and are used for tax benefits. While these tax benefits may have made sense for the average family in the past, due to recent changes in Estate Tax Law, these Trusts no longer provide the tax benefits they used to and come with a price that many families are unaware of.

In the last few months, I have had multiple A/B Trusts slide across my desk for review. While I am able to prevent the pitfalls of A/B Trusts for my clients, others come to see me too late and are stuck with an outdated Estate Plan drafted by their previous attorney who has since retired.
