PB: I get inspiration from chatting with clients, following the nature and discover new design. I am inspired with Pinterest which is the best app to search for designs and fulfill all demands and expectations of my clients.
Question 1
How do you gather inspiration for your design process?
SB: Inspiration is gathered from requirement of the clients. That is the focal point where I concentrate and I also refer to books, magazine and interview people for research
Both take inspiration from their client;s demands and also from external social media or books or
PB: Colour scheme, texture , fabrics all are important to attract the customers and it helps to communicate the message behind each design so I select them after visualising the clients taste and by not over powering anything. For example pairing blue with yellow or yellow with green are pleasant combinations.
Question 2
Can you tell us about your process for selecting colour schemes, fabrics and textures for you design vision?
Colour choices in both cases depends on the client, their personal choices and what the design calls for
SB: Client is the ultimate user, I just have to do the design and walk away. Colour selection, fabrics and textures is done by judging the choice of client, personally I don’t like very flashy colours, I’ll mostly choose earthy colours with a pop of colour. And sometimes the design also demands certain colours
PB: My experience in designing clothes does influence how I think about home decor. I find myself drawn to textures, patterns, and color palettes that can be translated from fashion to interior design, allowing me to create cohesive and harmonious spaces .
Yes, they both agree that despite not having practised the other design, they use their knowledge they’ve learned about materials, colours while purchasing items of the opposite design
PB: Actually nothing can be sure but being confident about your design and your clients’ choice can help you make your design comerically likeable. Another tip is that I have learned in present time is that social media is the best platform to grow your business
Question 3
Does the fact that you’re and interior designer affect how you think while purchasing fashion garments and vice versa?
SB: Once you’re a designer your designer doesn’t matter what design. I also design a part of my jewellery when I get it made. So yes, even though I’m an interior designer I used my knowledge as a designer while purchasing fashion garments etc.
Question 4
How do you make sure that your designs will do well commercially, is there something you’ve learned through your experience or trial and error?
From these answers, we can undestand that with experience, as designers and entrepreneurs, they no longer need trial and error to know which designs which are liked by customers.
SB: It’s no longer trial and error if design is functionally well done, it does commercially well too. I don’t do anything just for the aesthetics. Of course, I do make my designs visually appealing but that’s after I know its functionally well done.

While working on our set, we were mindful of our lighting placements. We used 2 spots and one fill to evenly light the room, and we’re very mindful of the shadows that the lights would form. While building the set, what really hit the homely feel for us was choosing the correct wallpaper, as it dictated the colour pallate for our entire shoot.
The way we wake up every morning and the first thing we see (besides instagram, duh) is the space around us. The wardrobes, the mirrors, the curtains. And in this era of pop culture, trends, and brands, Gen-Z is very vocal about expressing themselves with their own aesthetic in every way possible. And many of us think that aesthetics are all about how something looks cool or not (or is it worth putting up on social media?), but the truth is, it goes much deeper than that
Knowingly or unknowingly, we represent our personality in whatever the judgy little eyes can spot. Even if it’s through the way you dress up: like at 5 in the morning the way Cassie does, or by rolling out of bed and rushing to class with much needed caffeine after an all-nighter. It can also be through how messy you let your room get before you HAVE TO clean it. Basically, GenZ sees your mood of the day and the kind of personality you have through visual elements. And in this day and age, everyone wants to be the one to stand out, the one who has the X factor in their personality. But how do personalities work in terms of fashion? And how can everyone find a vibe and style that fits the ‘misfits’?.
In this era, everyone wants to discover and show off their quirky personalities over the internet. The same internet, where trends come and go quickly and everyone rushes to catch onto the scene. Some trends stick with some, and some don’t. Ultimately, it results in their character development. And the tips and tricks we watch on our FYP are pretty helpful with figuring out what to do with our closet and spaces
When it comes to our closet, people can have a clean aesthetic, or a grunge one. Maximalism is also a very fun and quirky way to go. And like with garments, there are different themes of decor to cater each and everyone’s personal style. There are soft pastels, grays and tans for a minimalist vibe, and macrame rugs and tapestries for a bohemian one. If your personality has an edge to it, or if you have a lot of color in your wardrobe, then something with dark tones or color blocking might be your calling (much like Wednesday and Enid). From prints and dyes to fabrics and textures, there’s a lil something for everybody. Fashion is not just about garments, but more about all the little elements in your life that set you apart from the crowd. And of course, trying out new trends and exploring boundaries to find your signature style never hurt anyone.
Whether you are aware of your style or not, here are some aesthetics to match your personality and some tips/DIYs to add fun and personalized elements to your room.
The cutest and most picked (for all the right reasons), is this interior aesthetic that has a color palette of pastel shades. To go with your tender and sweet personality, pinks, purples, and floral cutesy patterns might definitely catch your undivided attention
When done in the right proportion, this aesthetic gives off a playful, fresh and springtime vibe. Some elements to add to enhance your soft girl era even more are colored throw pillows, ceramics like jewelry trays that you can make yourself with air dried clay and acrylic paints with your girls, or plushies from Miniso that you can get under 500 INR. Experiencing life in pink is the way to go!

Do you recall the aesthetic of Sonam Kapoor’s character in the movie ‘Khoobsurat’? According to millennials, this ‘all eyes on you’ spirit can be created in your space using different color schemes and interpreting accents of bold and hot colors (orange, red, yellow, and purple). This interior style is for people who have a strong personality, with endless social battery and a revolutionary style. People who are unafraid of making a statement with their chirpy mood and fun aura. If this is something that interests you, then elements that will make your space brighter is adding fluid art canvases that you can make as a fun activity (like on those satisfying instagram art pages), or floral wallpapers to install on your bed head wall for a striking look. You can also try browsing brands like Chumbak that will definitely have interesting decor for you. It’s not about making your space loud, but something to add that should shout about all the drama that you are and love.

Imagine this: eggshell walls with rustic brown interior and a lot of green plants in your room. This theme combines colors of whites, grays and tans for the boho chic in you. For the decor, browsing Amazon will easily land you woven macrame wall hangings, fairy lights, fake plants and sunset lamps or mandala tapestries on a budget.Making or getting bubble candles from scratch or from a small business store on instagram would seem like a fun thing to add to your bedside table. This aesthetic captures a carefree and adventurous vibe with a warm ambiance and metallic accents. It’s purposefully messy to make your space seem cozy and homey. It’s for people who have more of a clean girl vibe, who are mindful, relaxed and gentle in terms of character with a tranquil state of mind.

As unappealing as it sounds, black or gray walls might be just what you need to make your life focused and all mysterious. This decor is the most put together out of all. It combines deep jewel tones, rich navy blues, browns and grays with sleek gold accents. It’s something new that’s in trend the most right now because of the intimidating colors that will make you look like a badass. It represents order and personality for people who are a fan of sophistication and elegance. You can browse IKEA for affordable storage shelves and decor in black or metallic accents

Except for color psychology, shapes of decor in your space play a big role in making up your mood. And this generation thinks it is crucial to express yourself in every way possible to put ideas of initiative and originality out in the world. Fashionable interior is something that we should all start believing in, because this mantra is here to stay.
