The GSMA also produces the industry-leading MWC (Mobile World Congress) events held annually in Barcelona (110,000 attendees), Shanghai (75,000) and our newest, Los Angeles (20,000+). Los Angeles is the media & entertainment capital of the world. MWC19 Los Angeles is the ideal event to unveil the latest innovations and witness entertainment companies, mobile operators, content distributors, and media moguls explore the convergence of technology and media & entertainment. MWC19 Los Angeles (www.mwclosangeles.com) convenes 22-24 October 2019 in the LA Convention Center. The show also includes 4YFN (Four Years From Now), our startup/venture/entrepreneur event, as well as YoMo!, our youth STEAM festival for school children (expecting ~14,000 public school children over 3 days). Attendees: For 2018, MWC Los Angeles drew nearly 21,000+ attendees from 112 countries. 64% of attendees held senior-level positions and over 2,500 CEOs participated. The top industries represented were: 1) Telco and Operator - 34%; Enterprise and Brand - 28%; Vertical Industries - 26%. 220 media and industry analysts also attended. Nearly 1,000 companies participated. An additional 130 startups participated in 4YFN. An additional 6,500 students attended YoMo. Session Overview: “When Worlds Collide” “When Worlds Collide” explores how the creative-tech economy can better support the next generation of industry leaders in XR/spatial computing by developing qualified candidates for internships, entry-level opportunities, and startup capital for new business models in Hollywood. The discussion will also showcase some “next generation” techniques in 5G-enabled XR content creation with real-life success stories. The session will culminate with an industry call-to-action.
