Problem Statement Passive architecture is a branch of sustainable development that hold most of the strate lives more sustainable in the future. Additionally, increasing awareness in society is essential to have a kick start of sustainbality.
Project Brief Inspiration
Due to number of people in cities, the energy usage is higher than others. Therefore, it is necessary to decrease energy consumption in the urban area. The urban areas have income. Cities have a better development support compared to the other areas in the country. Therefore, it is important to build a sustainable city from all aspects of life such as, socially, economically and environmentally. In Malaysia, passive design is not commonly found. Its result in people are not familiar with the strategies and spaces. It is essential to enable and promote them to experience the passive design in the society.
01INTRODUCTION
In 2022, climate change has already raised as a global concern to focus on. Architecture has a huge impact on the environment and more people are seeking for sustainable sustainability is important to conserve resources, reduce waste, enhance resiliency to the natural and minimise the environmental impact of the strategies use.
With the aim to raise the awareness of passive architecture, exploring the short-stay hotel as a model to build passively in a tropical setting. The short-stay hotel allows the users to spend their quality time in there which are nearby to the public transportation or the terminal station. Compared with the average hotel with the short-stay hotel, the short-stay hotel can have more opportunities to experiment with the passive design.
Greater Kuala Lum pur/Klang Valley Nation al Key Economic Area, seeks to transform Sungai Klang and Sungai Gombak into an iconic waterway at par with that in cities like London, Paris, Melbourne and Amsterdam by 2020. Petaling Street has given a facelift where to large Chi nese arches were built to welcome visitors. A green roof cover was constructed, covering the whole street. The street is now totally pedestrianised and became a pedestrain shopping mall. Petaling Street also is regarded as a heritage site.

Selangor Civil War caused a series of con nese community. Shop lots were destroyed and tin mines are abandoned. The war caused economic dislocation and loss of mining investments and paved the way for expan sion of British control.The Chinese community wanted to leave due to the unworkable tin mines but a tapioca mill to persuade the Chinese to stay. Therefore, “Chee Cheong Kai” was sometimes called, meaning Starch Factory Street. Kuala Lumpur was a typical “pioneer” town around the start of the 20th Century. Shoplots, roads and pavements were rebuilt as Petaling Street was a booming trading spot for busi nessmen. There are developments of theatre, cafe, night clubs and etc.

Shang Hai. It have been remain the facade and the main structure of the building. What inspired me from this case study is adapting the culture around th site into the building and also remaining the original main structure of the site.
What I learn from this case study is about the method of how to utilise the passive design into the buidling, and the material choice. Sekeping Kong Heng, Ipoh, Malaysia by Seksan Design Sekeping Kong Heng is located in a 3 storey neo-classical building which also houses a famous dishes in town.
Also they are using the natural sunlight to create natural lighting into the space. It can reduce the energy consumption. Material such as louver door to ensure the ventilation in the space Using the elements, colour scheme and material to bring out the culture concept. Combining the historical and the modern in the building.

Guggenheim Museum, New York by Frank Lloyd Wright This museum is located in New York, and what I inspired by this case study is about the link with the corridor and the atrium, also the use of the corridor. I want to apply the idea in my design, culture exhibit corridor. The ramp creates a parade to let the visitor experiences the art displyed along the walls.
