A Year 3 Architecture Student in Nanyang Polytechnic. My hobby for gaming created my passion in designing and ideating. I like the idea of creating something or anything. I have always been inspired by my father who was an architect who heavily involves himself with the people he works with. I joined this course to further my interest in designing various types of genres of things. I dream of leaving my mark through my design in this world one day.

01 ELYTRA ASCENTS
Elytra Ascents, my envisioned climbing and bouldering school, derives its essence from the fluid motion of a ladybug's elytra in flight. This serves as the core inspiration for its architectural structure, seamlessly harmonizing interior andexteriorrealms.
My design philosophy elegantly marries the ladybug's graceful movement with pragmatic aspects, optimizing wind and sunlight for an environmentally conscioususerexperience.
The climbing school's concept mirrors the ladybug's intricate wing motion, presenting diverse routes for climbers to navigate challenges. In the same spirit thattheladybugunfurlsitselytraforflight,ElytraAscentsembodiesasustainable architectural journey, urging students to ascend both physical walls and the heightsofsustainableachievement.
This Japanese Museum is designed with the intention to showcase the Japanese Culture to the people in Singapore. It is strategically placed at the Japanese Garden Roadtofurtherstrengthenitsidentity.
The Building itself consists of 2 identical buildings with 3 floors dedicated to showcasing and displaying the cultures from all across the regions in Japan. The exterior and interior aesthetics are inspired by the Edo Castle in Tokyo, Japan. The layout inside building is planned while taking into considerations the flow of the exhibitioninside.TheexhibitionwillchangeaccordingtotheseasonsinJapan.
This project aims to further improve my skills and knowledge on technical drawings suchasperspectiveview, sectionscutaway, floorplans, elevations, andsiteplans.
Inspiration
Edo Castle in Tokyo, Japan was considered as the building itself containsalotofcultureandhistoryof its own. The aesthetic of the castle capturestheessenceofJapanitself.
Design
The design itself took on a much simpler change. Most parts of the roof changed from a dutch roof to a simpler gable roof with slight curves at the end. The materials used also imitatesthematerialsusedinJapan
03 DWELLING DESIGN
Dwelling design project required us to observe our chosen area in Little Indiaandtheuserofthatareaoraswecallit, the“villager”.Itrequiredusto use our observational skills and problem finding skills to create a scenario of the “villager”. We were to study the behaviours, patterns, and how they interactwiththesurroundingsinthearea.
Myarchitectureprojectistodesignaplaceora“habitat”forworkerstorest or take a break during work time without being disturbed by passerby. It includes study and research on line of sight and implementing those research into my ”habitat”. It also includes the use of the surrounding elementstoinspirethenatureofmy“habitat”.
We are also required to use our sketchbooks to practice journaling throughoutthewholeprocess.Mostofthedrawingsaresketchesandhand drawntechnicaldrawings.Thelessonwastoteachthevalueofhanddrawn imagesandjournaling.
Research started off with own objects of interestswhichwillleadustofindingplaceswith alotoftheobject.Wewillthenchooseaplaceto be our site. My interests starts with cats, then constructioncones, thenstackableobjects.
My site would be a back alley where there are places to sit and take a break. There is a wall mural, and other elements like HVAC units, pipes, drainage, and others. The most important oneisthesmallsteps
Scenario 1
I imagined a scenario where a person needs an alone space to cry in public. Then they would findthesmallstepsinthebackalleyconvenient asitkeepsyouquitehiddenfromotherpeople.
Scenario 2
Scenario 2 is where I imagined it from a passerby perspective whentheywalkpassthearea, wouldtheyhavenoticeifthereis someone sitting at the small steps or would they have been takenbysurprisedtoseesomeonesittingthere.
1st Study
Sitting from the steps under the murals, the area where the steps are, is concealed behind the electrical box. It enhanced the ideaofprivacyinpublicspace.
LINE OF SIGHT
Commonly usedarea tocrossthe street
2ndStudy
Coming from across the street to the entrance, the steps are blockedbythelamppost.
3rdStudy
Coming from the opposite side of the entrance, there is an area next to the trash can where a small ledge is also blockedbytheelectricalbox
Project Narrative
The idea of a private space in public comes from observation of the elements of the site. These elements create a comfortable space for people to do things in private, while in public. The idea is to blend all the spaces where it can be considered private into one “habitat” for the “villagers”. The idea is not to create a shared space although it may seem like it when the conceptistoblendeverythingtogether, but a big space with its own individual spaces forthe“villagers

05 CUSTOMIZED SPEAKER DESIGN
05 CUSTOMISED
SPEAKER DESIGN
I was tasked to come up with designs for a client’s customised speaker. The design was to incorporate theidentityofAMKandPunggoltogether.Myideawas to have a connected centralized design with terracing designs at the edge to symbolise AMK as a circle, the center, a simple shape and Punggol to be more modern shaped, and with all the terrace buildings in thearea.Theclientarepleasedwiththedesign.
Ang Mo Kio represents unity, community, its located near the center of Singapore, it's a convenient place, and has the only circular block in sg. It can be represented with circle, center, or connections
Punggol represents layers, growth, progress, its located near the waterfront, its a modern town with a lot of terrace housings. It can be represented with stacking, terracing, or waves.
Simple shapes and patterns
Combining the shapes and integrating them together.
The idea is to have both speaker to complete each other when put together to bring out the symbols of the identities of the town together
Finished Product by Decibelist, a local company in Singapore who we collabed with in this project.
All productions are done by Decibelist.
06 MAKE-A-WISH ROOM MAKEOVER
PROJECT
06 MAKE-A-WISH PROJECT
This is a simple makeover for a room for a 2 kids. This is the first project where I made the 3d and 2d from scratch by myself. As for the design layout, kept it simple and not face the bed to the bathroom for feng shui reason. Most of the furnitures are bought from IKEA.
As mentioned, it is a make-a-wish project for one of the kid with a health problem, so it definitely feels greattobeabletobeapartofitasIamsurethatthey arehappytogetaroommakeover.
