RESEARCH
Sometimes patient equipment doesn’t fall under standard billable coding. When a miscellaneous code like E1399 is used, HOMELINK follows a rigorous process to ensure billing is accurate. We will only use an E1399 code when there are no other options.
HOMELINK takes the following steps when code E1399 is used:
• Research relevant HCPC billing codes and determine if a code conversion is possible
• If a HCPC code is not available, HOMELINK identifies the appropriate pricing via the manufacturer’s MSRP
• If no MSRP is available, we request a quote from the manufacturer to ensure accuracy
BILLING
HOMELINK never bills for an E1399 without an accurate description of the product.
AUDIT
100% of all bills utilizing an E1399 code go through an auditing process.
