Editor's Note

Dear readers,

It is with indescribable emotion that we invite you to turn the first page of Verseum. What is Verseum? Perhaps the simplest answer would be that it is a magazine born out of a deep love for the written word, for those rare moments when a verse or a sentence can forever change the way we see the world. But beyond words, Verseum is also a window into our souls, a bridge between our feelings and yours.

Today, when time seems to move faster, and the noise of everyday life often drowns out our thoughts, we felt the need for a space where we could stop, breathe, and let ourselves be carried away by stories and verses. And that is Verseum a place of calm, of reflection, and of a desire to rediscover beauty in the smallest details of life.

Every word you will find here has been chosen with love, with the intention of touching your heart. We are here to offer you an escape, a break from the rush of daily life, an opportunity to lose yourself in the magic of literature. Perhaps it is not always easy to understand, perhaps sometimes the words seem too deep or too simple, but each page is an invitation to search for something more: an understanding, a connection, an emotion.

For us, literature is more than an art form – it is an act of courage. The courage to say something, to reveal our vulnerability, and at the same time, to find ourselves in the words of others. Perhaps this is the magic of poetry and prose: it brings us all together in one place, deepens us in questions, and raises us in answers.

In closing, we thank you for choosing to journey with us through the pages of this issue. May every reading be a moment of calm, of discovery, and, most of all, of recognition of what binds us all. Thus, we wish that every word may touch you and accompany you on your path.

With much gratitude,

THE FOREST OF CRYSTALS

Under the translucent enamel sky, stretched a world of fragile stillness, where only winter sang its silent elegies, over the rounded hills, like the memories of a child, resting

beneath a quilt of pearly frost. Silence, frozen in amber-stained glass, had slipped between the trees, cloaked in living silver garments, unfolding like a cathedral of infinity. Their branches, lacework of ice, embraced the sky like pleading hands, and their delicate shadows, thin threads of silk woven on the edge of a thought, melted into the snow like a forgotten footprint on the canvas of eternity. The twilight lights scattered through the branches, sparkling in molten gold and purple hues, like a song flowing secretly through the veins of winter.

FLOWERS

Flowers not only beautify the world They have a calming effect on the soul. When you walk in a garden amongst flowers, You feel like staying there for many hours.

Flowers bring enchantment to your life.

They fill you with love and prevent strife. People send flowers to the ones they love, Because flowers convey messages of love. Flowers are always in great demand. People always stop at a flower stand, To buy flowers for birthdays and occasions grand.

Lovers can be seen walking with flowers in hand.

Flowers are not man-made but part of nature.

In national parks and botanical gardens, they feature.

They are smiles from the Creator to show his love.

Everyone loves flowers, they’re blessings from above.

Little dragonfly flutter your wings and manifest your appearance, for them you are the goddess of sacred waters.

Harmonize my environment bearing in mind that you are the sacred gift of the almighty.

Blue dragonfly, in my dawns, you are the golden of my lonely heart.

BLUE DRAGONFLY WITH GOLDEN WINGS

Blue dragonfly with golden wings, why do you feel so lonely?

If, with the splashing of the water, it's a sign that the brooks await for your arrival.

LILY

Yes, dear, there are many flowers in my garden.

This night of March, with many colors and fragrance, beauty with a smile, they are whispering, "I am a rose."

"And I, a lotus."

"Yes, I am jasmine, champa, sunflower."

And you, my dear, are the narcissus.

But this lovely night, with the full moonlight, my desire is a white lily.

Why lily?

I don’t know.

But my kavikul guru Kalidas described the lily as "kumudini,"

Yes, dear, there are many flowers in my garden.

This night of March, with many colors and fragrance, beauty with a smile, they are whispering, "I am a rose."

"And I, a lotus."

"Yes, I am jasmine, champa, sunflower."

And you, my dear, are the narcissus.

But this lovely night, with the full moonlight, my desire is a white lily.

Why lily?

I don’t know.

But my kavikul guru Kalidas described the lily as "kumudini," the kumudini that blooms only in the moonlight.

The moon is the only dear and near. Her love and closeness are fantastic, the moon and the lily.

Both create a beautiful oneness, an eternal song of the sky and the earth.

Yes, dear, my sky, your sky.

THERE’S NO BALM EITHER

Lo! The beautifully adorned star-lit sky Wing my thoughts for a pleasant fly; Advancing age infiltrates with loneliness, Feeble and forlorn I stare into emptiness.

Memories steadily slip deep into the past The fickle childhood surfaces in the midst; Tear-filled eyes wrap it with a deep liking, Accursed; except for pain I find nothing.

The dawn slowly slips into the dusk fall, From twilight, fear grips on the nightfall; Through the small window I keep staring, The star-lit sky looks misty but enticing.

Yes! The inexhaustible yearning on one side, And, the agony of loneliness on the other side; But, the balm I seek remains elusive forever, Except the starry night, there’s no balm either.

UNEXPECTEDLY

Suddenly, I became a stranger. Next year, I will live as an unknown.

During summer, the snow will melt away, and I’ll live my winter deep within the world.

Night after night, the beautiful statue of dreams will crumble.

Days will drift away from me, like schizophrenics fleeing from noise.

We won’t know what happens in a century. We won’t remember how long our beards will grow.

Poems will turn into pebbles, oblivion will find me in my winter, tucked within.

ATINGERI

ODE TO THE WOODLAND

So much restless I always feel to see you

To lose myself in your fairy celestial arms

To mingle myself in your vibes of mist and hues

To roam in your lovely sheds adorned with lush green.

To enter into thy realm of ecstasy.

You have always devoured me in your wings of love

In your crooning brooks where I find ecstasy, rest and respite

In your desolate corner where I listen to your whisper

In the chirping of your songbirds and songs of silence.

Where fragrant flowers hang in the creepers like starry lamps in the sky.

I am eager to merge myself with your ecstatic consciousness.

I wish to forget my essence lying in your breast

Where your flowers dance in the wind with the buzzing of bees

Where the waterfall always sings the glory of the divine.

To you, I offer my heart, gratitude and consciousness.

I always wish to be with you in your magnificent abode

Where floating clouds kiss your boughs

Even a spark for a moment with you mesmerizes me

And I like to lose myself and my consciousness in your vibes

To get one with you and mingle with the light of the Almighty.

Oh woodland, you are the epitome of divine glamour.

You are an empire of absolute peace and rapture.

An ineffable hush pervades you at night.

I wonder what beautiful attire you wear in spring and autumn.

My heart ardently desires to see it all.

Oh lovely spark of the divine grace

To remain in your blissful touch, and feel your essence

To feel the touch of heaven's eye

I wish to stroll under your shady trees and rapt mountains so high

Oh, woodland, drench me with your divine flame, fragrance and flavor.

THE REAL CAUSES BEHIND POLLUTION AND POVERTY

In the depths of a ravaged earth, a cry echoes a cry for justice, for accountability, for the future.

Industrialists, with hands stained by greed, have plundered the land. They have taken and taken, leaving behind a trail of devastation. Their factories release toxic fumes, choking the breath from our lungs. Their vehicles and trains fill our cities with dust a constant reminder of their disregard for human life and nature.

They reap enormous profits, amassing billions. They live in luxury, paying taxes on their earnings but not for the damage they inflict. By offering bribes, they have silenced officers, newspapers, and other media. Meanwhile, millions suffer from chronic illnesses, spending vast amounts on medication. Many fall into crippling debt, lose their homes and lands, sell their property, and are ensnared in the web of poverty.

The earth weeps, its beauty ravaged by insatiable greed. Rivers, seas, oceans, and lakes are polluted. The atmosphere is saturated with poisonous gases, intensifying

the greenhouse effect and global warming. Mountains, valleys, plateaus, forests, and plains are being destroyed. Countless species have gone extinct. The world stands on the brink of disaster, yet politicians refuse to act. Instead, they busy themselves with wars, launching hundreds of missiles. Is this the true purpose of education? Is this the goal of civilization?

Who will hold the exploiters accountable? Who will stand for justice on behalf of the earth?

Why don’t we take legal action against them?

Why don’t we impose heavy taxes on polluters?

Why shouldn’t we seize their ill-gotten wealth to save the environment and lift people out of poverty and poor health?

The time for silence has passed. The time for action is now.

DEFINE YOUR LOVE

To say to someone "I Love You" is simply pleasurable and imaginatively crazy

But to do sacrifice for your beloved one is not easy !

To keep promises to your love is highly appreciated but in others eyes it's cheesy

But to fulfill this promise is not apparent when you say I am busy !

To say keep yourself happy is looking very breezy

But never to hurt your beloved one's feelings is not easy !

To say to your beloved is easy to keep your mind calm and freezy

But not be the cause of beloved one's mental irritation is not easy!

To say you are my life is not like a sweet sound of laugh like wheezy

But be faithful to your beloved one till the last moment of breath is not easy!

To say you are the cause of my smile sweet Daisy

But be a reason of her smile is not easy!

I never make any promises to my sweetheart

I never swear for fascinating dreams of the imagination of the heavenly part

Because ours is eternal love my dear beloved You are the cause of my peace and happiness that give me strength and authentic emotional resolved

My love for you is not like rain

Which comes suddenly and goes any time into vain

My love for you is like air

Which may be silent sometimes but always around you my dear!

THE LAST DESTINATION

There is something which is not visible.. The time... that doesn't stop.. The desire... that increases every moment... Did anyone see the tomorrow ... Everyone started running in the morning... Who know the final destination... Running away from the truth. Why are so many people helpless?. You have everything.. Still why always sad?

The whole world is fascinated by illusion, When will we recognize God? What kind of discord is there in the mind? There is peace in surrender.. God knows all, recognizes all. Nothing beyond this.. This is your ultimate destination.

VOICE OF SILENCE!

Silence has a voice ; listen to it

Do go down the memory lane

My time still stands erect there Silent are my awkward moments

My silent words I face everyday

So much pain and agony dominate

The sea water keeps dead silent Million hidden silences beneath There is a silent rise in every fall Listen to utter silence sometimes.

Poco a poco

ELOQUENCE OF SILENCE

It's time for the stone of everything that is not my silence/ Of extinction, of total oblivion/ Life forms endless furrows/ Footprints of the road/ Past mistakes sealing lips, looking up at the written pages/ eloquence of silence that sustains a silent wind / There is still so much beauty!!! It is necessary to fall apart / give in for a moment fair/

To let the crying pass before being forgotten.

THE TORTUOUS PUZZLE MELTS

This is too much to dance on the foggy dais, a soulful cry heaps on the condemn cell of a sunless land, (belonging to a windy beach) breast-torn sonata of murdering zone says about the days that gravel the questions of dogmatic rains... some trees unfolding their innocent leaves heal the derailed, open the magic door and the kids of the sun and dew together sprinkle the dust of evening glows and smiles of the untrodden, break the wings to envelop the wounds. the dark hidden politics of the demons with the branches of a magic tree acts on a new dais of riverine vest, the new unwavering hands emerging from the fog bring the roots from the dense woods, the tortuous puzzle melts…

Dr Prafulla K. Panda, MA,

M.Phil., Ph.D (b. 1978...). A lecturer by profession and a poet by passion, Dr Panda's poetic trajectory traverses across human life, society and beyond. His wide range of verses delve into intricacies of human relationship diving in its myriad shades of love, passion, emotion, mortality and death. For Dr Panda, poetry is not merely a tapestry of words but each word is a microcosm of the whole that opens the windows of eternal bliss and contentment. Like a mystic he never fails to surprise by blending the concrete with the abstract, the near with the far and the material with the spiritual. His poetry celebrates both free and rhymed verse though the latter often dominates the poetic structure.

Dr. Panda has published two collections of poetry- “Bounty of Silence: Verses Unveiling the Songs of Soul”, and "Beacon of Hope: A Symphony of Verses", and edited an inter-continental anthology “Beyond the Horizon”.

WINTER MOON

The winter moon is beaming bright Amid the shadows of the misty night She keeps her promise for her lover

So reaches to Earth in wintry weather

Her blushing beauty ever catches sight

When she glints through the icy night Amid the whispers of the chilly wind She submits to him by body and mind

The trees sway under her bright silvery light And mountains ponder in the gleaming night Amid symphony of owls and the crickets' sultry horn

She lies in his embrace until the morn

She blushes bright amidst his kisses light And stays awake on this passionate night.

IUBESC TIMPUL ACELA

Iubesc timpul acela ce ascunde în el iubirea, Nu-i pot uita nici glasul, nu-i pot uita privirea.

THE SEARCH

Travelling a road

Where hearts bleed In the shadows

Of hollow temples

Where love is shunned And the only offering You have is your soul

Hallowed ground where rituals Have been performed Since time immemorial

Pathways paved by holy sacrifice

So we can all live a better life Have been neglected And no longer held sacred

Stalking graveyards of the past

In search of answers For the nightmares I experienced as a child Which remain hidden Amongst the wreckage

Yet my search for resolution Shall remain my mission For I have envisioned A sanctuary hence Where I may rest.

IDEA OF FREEDOM

Freedom attracts us. Everyone is looking for Freedom. But it looks like itself, as soon as it dresses in clothes of designer without awardsResponsibility. It is and internal And external. Fills the air with Love. But sometimes it's steep. It wants you to sacrifice yourself. And the comfort. And the silence. Freedom is not faith. Neither is yours. Neither - mine. It is the general concept to fly with Soul in the air.

And to step we in payback on traces from time immemorialbrave and hearty peoplea seed ancient in the Light. Everyone is looking for Freedom. When we ask the Soul, comes an answer in the hearts. RESPONSIBILITY IN LOVE. Come with Peace! Oh, Freedom!

A LOOK AT LIFE-152

Just close your eyes Take me wherever you want to I will be with you where you wish me to, heaven or hell, sun moon or stars I was with you, will be with you all the way No matter how poignant the journey may be. May be difficult to endure when you move from darkness to darkness but I relish your company in summer and winter coz without you, I do not have existence of my own

I don't have a shape, acquire a shape as you wish. I am beyond pair of opposites, devoid of attributes.

Have nothing to prove, nothing to accomplish, nothing to do and undo, yet I am everywhere, in everything and being I am the universe, time, space and causation, yet much beyond it. I remain in myself, yet I am in everything. I am One, become many when you come under illusion and wish me to

You don't see me But I am deep inside Look within I am you and you are me Consciousness, pure and unalloyed. Unveil the veil We are the same.

You are everywhere You are the limitless sky, the ever-expanding universe. Realise it! That will be the day for which you are here. The moment you have been looking forward to since long. Unless duality disappears you can't be yourself, the single, indivisible you without a second. that you are, the timeless, ageless you.

AFTER DARKNESS, LIGHT APPEARS

Without darkness, you would never see the moon gleaming

Without darkness, you would never see the stars glittering

The sky needs millions of stars to brighten the night

It would be awfully dark with only one star shining its light.

Darkness is just temporary, you will see rays of light in the morning

Welcome a beautiful day when the sun is rising

The magnificent dawn wakes up the birds to chirp and sing

The cherishing music echoes in the air, sweet and serenading.

Enchanting colours adorn the sky, and the ambience is mesmerizing

Saffron hues spread across the horizon, how enthralling

Golden sand sparkles, and sea waves rush to the shore

A serene moment for relaxation, and I wish for more.

The blooming flowers in various colours feast the eyes

The fragrance of nectar attracts bees and butterflies

Fluttering their vibrant wings, they perch on clusters of flowers

Sipping sweet honey and enjoying the rays of light for hours.

The glory of nature and its splendid blessings to mankind

It offers tremendous beneficial properties of every kind

This glorious nature creates wonders and nourishes us abundantly

The presence of nature's bounty makes life beautiful completely.

A BALLAD

She weaves her destiny

With her every pounding

And, makes a ballad in a hammer

Scattering dreams

In that millions of pebbles

Her sweating withers

Within the contour of her landscape

Leaving a relic

Of understanding within her

Many colorful birds get a warm

Of every hit she makes They chirp

In her every toil

No hope at all; she makes Yet, it goes by

Under the scorching sun

The river gushing by her side

Has sung the chronicles of her

Every moment she hits

The sound of shore

This is a pebble of life

Nestled in a toil

She scribbles the words

The words grown by her inheritance

Painted by the sunlight

Played in their own world

And, nature has understood

The hut of life

Sheltered under the open sky

Mingled by the breathless horizons

When gust comes

She startles

But, no fret

She ignores the wall and the roof

When the river grudges with heavy rainfall

She shifts her mind

Dwelling her tomorrow

A bit gasp she takes

Though not the final show

She looks up in the sky at last

And, she measures the breadth of the river
