Finney Crossing lands Fiddlehead Brewing Brewery and pizza restaurant proposed for neighborhood

Williston will be getting its third brewery if town planners approve the latest commercial proposal at the Finney Crossing neighborhood near Taft Corners. Fiddlehead Brewing Company, a 10-year-old craft beer-maker with a flagship production house and tasting room in Shelburne, plans

to open a second location in a new 7,500-square-foot building next to a small park in the middle of the neighborhood, according to plans submitted in January to the Williston Planning and Zoning office. The proposal is on the agenda for the March 10 meeting of the Development Review Board. It was submitted by Finney Crossing developers Snyder Commercial Properties and Rieley Properties, whose

owner, Scott Rieley, is the board chair man. Rieley has recused himself from deliberations on past Finney Crossing applications. The brewery would join Burlington Beer Company and Goodwater Brewery as the town’s craft beer options. In addition to Fiddlehead, a wood-fired pizza restaurant called Folino’s is also in the plans for the new building. Folino’s is co-located

with Fiddlehead in Shelburne and also has a downtown Burlington location. Pizza from Folino’s will be available at Fiddlehead, satisfying a state mandate that breweries have food for sale. Beer production will comprise just 12 percent of the building, while the restaurant and bar will make up the majority of the space. An outdoor ice cream window and patio are also in the plans. The building will join a Hilton

hotel, Healthy Living Market and Farmhouse Tap and Grill — all under construction — as the neighborhood’s commercial core. The neighborhood also has hundreds of apartments and condominiums built over the past eight years. The March 10 hearing is set for 7 p.m. at Town Hall. A preliminary approval is sought. The proposal would need to return for a second hearing with the board for final approval.
