THE HARMAYA LOCATION: CHENNAI PROJECT TYPE:RESIDENTIAL SITE AREA: 800sqm The climate change is an inevitable process in any place we stay,in a city such as Chennai,living in a space with an optimum temperature in the indoor spaces is very important.The design aims in providing a good functional space functional space which have scaled openings and open spaces without any clutters inbetween them especially in the transitional spaces.A traditional approach of courtyard in the middle surrounding which the paces have been planned.Owing to the character of how family tay works,there are spaces provided catering to all thier activities for every age group.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT A rectangular site,situated in the city center.A setback of 6m is left on three sides and an open lawn is spaced on the western side for the users.

The replication of site as the buiding framework,a recatangular model to enhance the effeciancy of the spaces.

A three floor structure asper FSI rules with spaces spread across in three floors

Edges punctured to add visual emphasis and the walls are curved with level differences such that there is optimum lighting and ventilation

Green roofs incorporated along with greenscapes to blend the pallete along with nature

A rustic look with a combination of brickwork and concrete finishes for the users to experience and live along with the materials and the incorporation of Jaali walls creates an interesting atmosphere in the interior spaces.
