Hussein Chalayan launches the Porcelain Dress Collection London* September 2009
Hussein Chalayan is pleased to release its new sub-collection called Porcelain Dresses for Hussein Chalayan. The collection will be showcased in a private event during London Fashion Week. Inspired by the beauty of Porcelains and Hungary’s heritage in Porcelain, the designer created a unique and once in a lifetime capsule collection for s/s 2010. The collection is composed of 8 designs under 4 themes chosen by the designer. The titles of the themes describe the collection the best, so here they are: Carved elephant bones, Shiny & green porcelain å la Zsolnay, In search of the gold and finally Blue embroidery. The themes depict perfectly the main areas of porcelain design; coating and carving techniques are both used in the collection. The launch will be held at the Victoria and Albert Museum. The launch party will conclude in the opening event of the European Porcelain Design exhibition which will include the Porcelain Dresses for Hussein Chalayan.
