PUMP TRACKS

HIGH PERFORMANCE PLAYGROUNDS

WHAT IS A VELOSOLUTIONS PUMP TRACK?

Velosolutions Pump Tracks are both playgrounds and training facilities for bikers, skateboarders or scooter riders of all skill levels. Asphalted tracks are hot spots for all kinds of riders who seek a fun and action-filled sports experience.

Velosolutions Pump Tracks are highly popular destinations that become a hive of community activity. Riders enjoy practicing the basic skills of carrying momentum, improving balance and building speed by using their arms and legs to pump their bike/ board/scooter around the track.

As riders improve their skills, the tracks are designed to provide the option for more challenges with increased speed and skill, without needing to change the construction. A feature that a 5-year-old can roll through can be used as a gap jump for a professional.

WHAT SETS VELOSOLUTIONS PUMP TRACKS APART?

Not only were we the first to create both concrete and asphalt pump tracks, but we have been the best to do so. Our unique savoir faire has resulted in world class pump tracks in cities across the globe.

Each pump track is unique and comes with the highest standard of service quality. Look out for our famous “red lines” on our pump tracks! If you’re riding the red line, you’ll be having the official Velosolutions experience.

PUMP PORTFOLIO TRACK DIVERSITY

We have been driving innovation in the industry expanding our portfolio with a variety of different types of tracks, including pump tracks specifically designed to suit beginners (kids) to seasoned racing pros. We can design indoor parks, urban waves, pump bowls which feature skate park bowl features, asphalt jump lines as well as gravity fed snake lines!

SNAKE RUN STANDARD TRACK JUMP LINES

STANDARD TRACK

OUR FRONT RUNNER

As the flagship among the Velosolutions Pump Tracks, this standard sized pump track fulfills all requirements to host world-class pump track events, including the UCI Pump Track World Championships.

Despite its high profile, the track is accessible to riders of all skill levels, as well as to any kind of wheeled sports including skateboard (long and short), BMX, scooters, balance bikes or in-line skates. The design allows for multiple continuous laps without rejoining the start hill, thus riders are able to create the exertion desired, e.g. equivalent to a lap of an Olympic BMX race track or a mountain bike downhill trail.

The track layout is extraordinarily dense and offers a huge amount of variety in line choice and transfer options, making it not only a fun venue for training stamina and coordination, but also an exhilarating playground for freestylers of any discipline.

KIDS TRACKS

START THEM YOUNG!

Similar to a standard pump track, kids pump tracks bring the same benefits, but has a design that is tailored to younger and beginner users, especially pre-school riders on balance bikes.

Features are designed for smaller riders, smaller wheels and the entire area is designed in a way that perfectly allows beginners to master basic pump track movements and skills before taking on a standard sized pump track.

URBAN WAVE INNOVATIVE DESIGN

An Urban Wave is the perfect beginner playground and entry to asphalt pump tracks. The type of project fits neatly between other tracks, or into small urban settings. Built with small obstacles and smooth transitions, the Urban Wave is inviting to novices that want to enjoy the movement of rolling over seamless contours.

INDOOR PUMP TRACKS

THE WEATHER PROOF SOLUTION

Our hands-on construction methods allow us to create projects in small places and inside existing buildings. We can build any type of track, park, bowl, or even a jump line if the height clearance allows.

Riders and skaters like riding indoors during the wet and cold months as well as providing great training facilities through the winter periods, plus riders are willing to pay a fee for this privilege.

JUMP LINES

URBAN ROLLER COASTERS

The asphalt jump lines contain multiple jump lines of varying difficulty. Offering jumps of increasing size and technical demand, they allow for step-by-step skills development. Building on the skills acquired on the kids pump track and standard pump track, the jump lines are the perfect preparation for more advanced freestyle skills.

All of the jumps are designed to be safe, yet progressive with each of them being rollable and without deep bowls before the landings of the jumps.

Most importantly, compared to the high maintenance costs of regular dirt jump lines our asphalt jump lines have no maintenance fees. They also provides a consistent jump, where nobody is able to adjust the shape/ height of the features creating a safer riding environment.

PUMP BOWL / PUMP PARK

OUR ALL ROUND PLATFORM

The freestyle biking community has grown exponentially in popularity over recent years, and riders seek alternative riding spaces and parks to progress in their sport and spend quality time honing their skills. Velosolutions pump bowls and parks are designed to offer progressively complex challenges and opportunities for everyone.

The pump bowl is a freestyle orientated pump track that has similar attributes to a swimming pool, taking inspiration from concrete skate parks and back yard swimming pools the pump bowl helps to offer a wider variety of features to a more diverse field of riding styles.

The bowl provides riders with the opportunity to be creative with their line choice and create something unique every time they drop in. The pump parks are suitable for all wheels and can include rails, ramps, hips and other skate park elements.

SNAKE RUN

GRAVITY FED PUMP TRACKS

Snake runs are a truly unique experience, they share all the attributes of our standard pump tracks except they are gravity fed meaning they are a downhill style trail. It requires riders to put in less input in order to achieve speed, requires brake control and is a awesome way to help develop rider skill. Riders of all abilities and on all styles of wheels can enjoy.

The site requires a slope in order for a snake run to be constructed.

TRACK DESIGN

TAILOR MADE SOLUTIONS

Our pump track designs make optimum use of the available area, always creating a wide range of possible combinations within the given space.

(1) On the long straights users can learn to «pump» and jump.

(2) The track has a clearly defined mainline that touches at many places creating countless new line options and transfers.

(3) The starting platform as well as the platforms nestled inside the track offer adequate space to rest.

(4) Velosolutions recommends creating a chill out area around the track.

For each customer we create a tailor-made design specific to their needs.

TRACK SURFACE A

UNIQUE ASPHALT TECHNIQUE

We have developed a specific asphalt process. The technique ensures the cleanliness of the track and makes it maintenance-free. We recommend building with asphalt because of its outstanding advantages:

• Durability

• All-weather suitability

• Low rolling resistance

• Maximum traction

Velosolutions Asphalt Pump tracks are loved by mountain bikers, BMXers, skaters, in-line skaters and scooter riders from any age, gender and nation.

Maintenance is limited to the green areas and annual inspection of the slopes and drainage. When we hand over the pump track, you will receive maintenance and care instructions.

PROJECT APPROACH

When Velosolutions and Canadian Ramp Company design your pump track and skills park, you can expect a design unique to your location, user group, and budget.

The best way to do this is through community consultation, whether its surveys, site visits, virtual and live meetings, we really grasp the wants and needs of the users and the client. We offer both in house or virtual design consultations depending on what you and your staff are able to accommodate.

When choosing our team for your project you can be sure we will create a unique destination for your area, and that your staff and users will have a great experience throughout the entire process! Our design team is made up of industry professionals that allow us to bridge the gap between users and the client. When designing your space, we understand that, while the park is for the users it needs to be built in a way that makes sense for the location.

Once conceptual designs are completed and approved, we will move into executive design phase and then onto construction.

Our approach to construction has proven successful for the past ten years. Through our build style and materials, we have mastered compaction of the base. Using our special mix of asphalt, we can easily contour the asphalt into the shape we want. The fine mix allows for a smooth finish for those smaller wheels, while still allowing for good grip through any weather conditions.

We look at landscaping options that will allow for minimal maintenance. Throughout planning and construction we are continually looking for ways to reduce costs, but also provide the highest quality end product. We do this by involving local contractors that can provide extensive knowledge and expertise on local environments.

Once construction of the pump track begins, our in house ground work team will build a structural base, shaping the granular material and laying the asphalt for the pump track. It’s this streamline approach that gives us the ability to have the project completed within our deadlines time after time.

When choosing Velosolutions and the Canadian Ramp Company you can rest assured that we will create a quality product that will support existing infrastructure and provide a communities with an exciting destination for all ages and abilities.

There are a lot of variables to manage when designing and building a concrete park and our team is committed to working with the project to insure a quality park that represents the skaters and broader community.

ABOVE GROUND

Every community has their own unique set of opportunities and challenges when it comes to developing a skate park, often an above ground skate park is the best fit. There are three primary build methods for aboveground parks, Pro Series with a MaxGrip Steel surface, X-Series which has a phenolic surface like Skatelite or Ramp Armor. We also offer a Stealth Classic build which is a custom on site wood build with a Ramp Armor or Skatelite surface.

PRO-OPS

Canadian Ramp Company’s “Pro Ops” line is a selection of skate features designed with and by professional skateboarders. Each feature bears the signature of the Pro Skater that provided input and endorsement. Whether it is in a new design or adding some new flavor to an existing park the Pro Ops features are a blast to skate and visually awesome.

PRE-FABRICATED PUMP TRACKS

Are you looking to promote the fun of sport at an event or evaluate the needs of constructed infrastructures? Want to see what effect a pump track might have on your local community? A mobile pump track or a pre-cast concrete track might be your solution! For temporary or permanent installations and events, Velosolutions and CRC offer Modular pump tracks & skills obstacles for rent or for sale. Both can be used flexibly and individually on all sorts of terrain.

MODULAR PUMP TRACK

Modular pump tracks make it possible for any community to build a low maintenance, low cost, hard surface pump track that can be enjoyed by every age, skill level and riding discipline. While a modular pump track is often installed as a permanent park feature it is also possible that the track be relocated or reconfigured.

PRE-CAST CONCRETE

Constructed with high strength precision cast concrete, our “Mason Series” pump tracks are a perfect fit for any community that wants the lowest maintenance hard surface pump track available. A Mason track can be installed on an existing concrete or asphalt pad like an underutilized tennis court or installed in ground, contoured into the landscape.

PROGRESSIVE BIKE RAMPS

At PBR we are dedicated to the sustainability and innovation of mountain biking. We continue to work with our multiple trail building partners to ensure a quality product and relevancy in the mountain biking industry.

A city typically has facilities for most sports, but mountain biking is often overlooked. In the past, mountain bikers had to rely on their own skills in ramp and obstacle building, to practice their sport, but not anymore. PBR manufactures pre-fabricated ramps specially designed for mountain biking. At PBR our ramps are a sustainable, virtually maintenance-free product designed to enhance the skills of mountain bikers in any setting.

At Progressive Bike Ramps we understand what riders want in a bike park because we don’t just build the ramps, we also ride. PBR consists of a dedicated group of individuals from different walks of like who came together for one purpose: to advance the sport we love as well as improve our own bike skills.

PRE-FABRICATED FEATURES

PBR the World’s leading manufacturer of engineered Pre-Fabricated Bike Features. At PBR, our ramps are Designed to Ride, and Built to Last. We provide a sustainable, minimal maintenance product that enhances any bike recreation area while providing skills progression opportunities to mountain bikers in every setting.

STAINLESS STEEL, LASER CUT, POWDER COATED

SKILL DEVELOPMENT FEATURES

This piece began as our prototype and has developed into a staple for any skills course. Starting out with a roller to generate momentum, it then gives you two options –roll straight out and down a ramp, or wheelie drop down into an alternate line which requires that you hit it with more speed.

JUMP FEATURES

Wooden ramps provide a consistent jump that doesn’t change during its lifetime, nobody is able to adjust the shape/ height of the features creating a safer riding environment. Dirt jumps often corrode without routine maintenance. Our ramps dramatically reduce the up keep costs compared to regular dirt jumps.

COMMUNITY BIKE PARKS

WHAT IS A BIKE PARK?

A bike park is a piece of land specifically designed for off-road or mountain biking. Bike parks can be built in small urban areas, public lands or integrated with trail systems. A bike park may include skills courses, pump tracks, jumps, trails and features. With many design and budget options available, a bike park is an achievable project for all communities.

WHY A BIKE PARK?

Bike parks provide family-friendly recreation. The need for safe, sustainable, progressive riding areas is growing with bikings popularity there is a great need for every community to have a space to enjoy riding opportunities.

The health benefits of riding bicycles is wide spread and well documented. From combating obesity and nature deficit disorder to strengthening the bonds of friends and family, biking has the power to transform communities.

Bike parks and bike trails can be integrated into existing park systems, trail systems, planned communities, placed adjacent to skate sparks or used to re-purpose vacant land.

Urban bike parks are a great way to introduce biking into the community, the parks consist of pump tracks, dirt jumps, learn to ride areas they can even include cafes, retail/ rental and a community space including picnic benches and gathering areas. The parks will also include kid specific zones where parents can relax and watch their children in a safe controlled environment.

A Bicycle Playground is exactly what is sounds like, a playground designed with features for kids to ride. Bicycle Playgrounds include features like ladder bridges, rollers, tunnels, and even teeter-totters specifically designed to offer a variety of fun obstacles that safely build cycling confidence.

Many people live in neighborhoods where kids don’t have a safe place to learn to ride, so they end up trying to learn on the sidewalk or in the street. In a neighborhood with a Bicycle Playground, parents can teach kids to ride in an area that is created just for that.

There is added motivation for kids to learn to ride since they are witnessing other kids riding and having fun. Bicycle Playgrounds have benefits that kids never think about that are at the top of the list for recreation professionals, such as getting kids outside, learning balance, gaining strength, focusing on and completing tasks, and interacting with other kids. Bicycle Playgrounds also teach kids to practice taking turns as they complete laps around the track.

Like traditional parks and playgrounds, a bike park or Bicycle Playground creates a place for neighborhoods to gather, families to bond and new friendships to form. Unlike traditional playgrounds that children eventually outgrow, everybody can use and enjoy a Bicycle Playground regardless of age. Even if your community has a world-class cycling infrastructure with access to paved and natural trails, a Bicycle Playground can complement what already exists by providing a place purposefully built for young riders.

URBAN BIKE PARKS BICYCLE PLAYGROUNDS

COMMUNITY BIKE PARKS SKILLS PARKS

WHAT IS A SKILLS BIKE PARK?

So, what is a “Skills Bike Park?” Skills Bike Parks are environments for children, teens or adults who want to learn essential bicycle riding skills in safe and fun conditions. They are purposely designed areas with a gravel/dirt surface and various technical and challenging elements. Skills Bike Parks can be built as unique bike parks in urban areas, for example, or as additions to existing bike parks.

SKILLS WHY?

Why Skills Parks? To start, they’re fun. But that’s not all. To date, there are more than 1.5 billion bicycles on earth. This is a great opportunity to create more and more destinations to inspire people to ride their bikes. These parks offer a great option to spend quality time in a fun and engaging way with family and friends all the while improving your riding skills. A skills park is a great addition to any city or bike park.

RESPONSIBILITY

GLOBAL INITIATIVE

EDUCATING ECO-MOBILITY

We offer a platform for introducing children to the world and advantages of Eco-mobility. By offering them a secure environment for them to learn the basics on two wheels, we hope to guide them (and their leg muscles) to use these forms of transportation more in the future.

THINKING LOCAL

As our national networks continue to grow, we aim to increase local production and sourcing of supplies. Staying local is a great way to reduce construction’s impact on the earth.

BUILDING GREEN

Velosolutions just reached a big milestone on the way to the goal of becoming a fully electric construction company: We are busy working on the world’s first mountain bike trail that is built with 100% renewable, pure electricity. All the machinery and vehicles are battery- powered and charged with locally produced electricity from hydro or solar. The pioneer project in the Swiss Alps is a vital part of the Greenstyle initiative in the premium alpine destination of FlimsLaax-Falera.

This green approach is becoming a company goal for every partner around the globe, with every team doing their best to become as green as possible within their working environment.

PROMOTING RECYCLING

We’re currently working on innovative recycling and up cycling projects to offer more sustainable projects to communities.
