Spring 2018
There has never been a better time to give !
Dear Friends,
Harrowing facts about traffic accidents. 1) India leads the world in road traffic accidents and traumatic injuries and deaths. 2) The State of Tamil Nadu – where CMC is located – has the highest rate of road traffic accidents, traumatic injuries and related deaths in all of India.
Once again, CMC leads the way. To address this pressing need, CMC is building a state-of-the-art Level I trauma center and 1500-bed hospital at its 88-acre campus in Kannigapuram, about 12 Km from Vellore. There are only two Level I trauma centers in all of India, both in the North. This will be the first trauma center in South India. Trauma surgeons and nurses have been awarded fellowships to visit the US to train in American best practices at the finest Level I Centers in the country, and, in addition, a number of eminent American Trauma surgeons, including Dr. David Reines, a member of the Foundation’s board, are working closely with CMC to help design the center and train its staff.
A generous CMC alumnus established a matching grant. Recently, a benevolent alumnus of CMC approached the Foundation with an extraordinarily generous offer: he is prepared to make a substantial donation to the Foundation that is expressly designated for the construction of the new trauma center at Kannigapuram, but in two parts. The first is an outright gift. The second is a matching grant: for each dollar that the Foundation raises for the trauma center before June 30, 2018, he will contribute an additional two dollars, up to a maximum of $40,000. (over, please)
Now your gift triples in value!
This means that for the next three months, your gift to the Vellore CMC Foundation that is design ated for the traum a center will go three times as far in value. So $100 will become $300, and $1,000 will become $3,000!
