Postdoctoral Global Health Innovation Program PUBLIC HEALTH AND COMMUNITY MEDICINE Home
This is an interdisciplinary, translational postdoctoral training program in non-communicable and infectious diseases that pose significant public health problems in resource limited settings.
Tufts University and Tufts Medical Center (Tufts)--Christian Medical College (CMC) Framework Program for Global Health Innovation Tufts and CMC, as part of their ongoing partnership, developed an innovative postdoctoral training program to solve current challenges in global health. Through funding from NIH, we are able to offer a program that will train postdoctoral fellows from Tufts and CMC to be engaged in global health research and training activities. The main focus of this training is to develop a sustainable interdisciplinary training program that will build training and research capacity at both institutions through a novel team-based structure. Each team, composed of two postdoctoral fellows from diverse disciplines at Tufts and CMC, mentors in each discipline, and an interdisciplinary mentorship committee, will implement a systems approach to global health research and the translation of this research into new and innovative, implementable products, processes, or policies that address specific global health challenges. This training program will build upon our collective interdisciplinary strengths and encompass both infectious and non-communicable diseases relevant to global health in low and middle-income countries. The Tufts consortium includes the following Schools and their departments, divisions, and programs: Medicine Nutrition Graduate Biomedical Sciences Engineering International Affairs
JOINT DEGREES Our Combined MD Programs provide students with the training and credentials that qualify them to fill unique and often influential roles within medicine. CLINICAL AFFILIATES
Our outstanding and diverse group of affiliated clinical teaching sites provide our medical students with exceptional opportunities to gain experience and conduct research.
Collectively, we are engaged in substantive global health research and training activities. Some topics of interest include: Infectious diseases Non-communicable diseases Nutrition Water, climate, and environmental science Mathematical modeling, bioinformatics, and statistics Cost-effectiveness, implementation, and translational science Public health and public policy http://medicine.tufts.edu/Education/Academic-Departments/Clinical-Departments/Public-Health-and-Community-Medicine/Nutrition-and-Infection-Unit/‌
