CMC grooves its way to fitness! Zumba is a vigorous, dance-based Columbian workout regime that can help burn about 500 to 1000 calories in a one-hour session, depending upon the intensity. CMC introduced this fitness programme within its community in 2015, and it has become an engaging health trend since. Mr. Platinie Paul, a ZIN-certified Zumba instructor for adults and children conducts classes at the Community hall in the Hospital Campus on Wednesdays from 6 to 7 pm. Zumba for children is customised with games and activities into the dance routine. The Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism, who observed Diabetes Week recently, also incorporated Zumba into their programme and classes were conducted in Vidyalayam, and Ida Scudder School to make children aware of the importance of physical exercise early and through an enjoyable approach.
