aster Greetings in the Mighty reinstated by the resurrected Christ, Name of the Resurrected Lord who appeared to him with a profound question: “Simon, son of John, do you Jesus Christ! truly love me more than these?” The message of Easter, when Christ As Peter confirmed his devotion, he Jesus conquered sin and death, is the was given a responsibility: “Take care crux of our Christian hope for the of His flock and feed them” (John future. Within this message is corded a 21:15–17). Herein lies the next three-fold realisation: purpose of Easter: to re-establish Easter, a Reality: We understand and our role in accepting and executing the God-given accept the reality of the resurrection of faithfully, responsibility of taking care of our the Lord Jesus Christ. The empty tomb and the divine revelation to His sick and suffering friends, whom disciples on various occasions are we have been called to serve.

testament to this; the story of Easter is not mystical, it is historical. Many times, as Jesus ministered in the Mediterranean, He talked about His death and resurrection. However, it was hard for His audience, including His own disciples, to grasp the veracity of this. It took Jesus’ appearance in His glorious form to allay the fears and despair of His disciples, with the reassurance of His peace. He even allowed one of them to touch His wounds from the Cross. And when the disciples were at shore, steeped in hopelessness and turning back to their former fishing days, Jesus revealed Himself to them and restored their faith manyfold. It is this reality that we celebrate at Easter, re-experiencing its power in our lives.

Easter brings Restoration: As the two disciples journeyed towards Emmaus, the despondency is almost palpable in Cleopas’ words: “…We had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place…” (Luke 24: 21). And yet, hope returned anew as Jesus joined them. The intensity of this faith is what comes through in their remarks: “Were not our hearts burning within us while He talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24: 32). Easter is filled with the message of restoration – restoration of life, restoration of relationships, restoration of hope, peace, and commitment. Let us then celebrate this season as the restoration of the lost. Easter obligates Responsibility: HAPPY EASTER! The reality of Jesus’ resurrection also - Rev. Ananthi Arputha Mary, draws us to rework our responsibility. Head, Chaplaincy Simon Peter, who denied Him and stayed away from the Cross immediately after His resurrection, repented.
