Milestones: Emergency Room opened in RUHSA New OPD block

A 3-bed Emergency room in the new OPD block in RUHSA campus was dedicated by Rev. Ananthi A. Mary, Head, Chaplaincy Department and inaugurated by Dr. M.C Mathew, Chairman, CMC Vellore Association Council, in the presence of Vice Chairman, Council- Dr. Sanjeet Peter, Director Dr. Sunil Chandy, Associate Directors- Dr. Anil Kuruvilla, Dr.Raju Titus Chacko, Dr.Sukria Nayak, Vice Principal- Dr. Anna Pulimood and Medical Superintendent Dr. C.E Eapen, former heads of RUHSA- Dr. Abel Rajaratnam and Dr. K.R John, at 4 pm on 6th July, 2016. The plaque was unveiled by Dr. Sunil Chandy and Dr. M.C Mathew. The plaque marked the 40 years of RUHSA’s dedicated service to the community. An Emergency room was a much needed facility for the people of K.V Kuppam block and also of the Gudiyatham, Madanur, Peranambut blocks who otherwise access care from 30-40 Kms away at Christian Medical College or 40-50 Kms away at Government Medical College, Vellore. Government-elected representatives from K.V. Kuppam constituency - MLA Mr. Lokanathan, Council Member Mr. Srinivasan, Chairman Mr. Umapathy, and many Panchayat Presidents and Council Members from neighboring villages - were honoured in a separate function organised for the community at 10.30 a.m. Mr. Lokanathan in his speech highly appreciated the social development and health services provided by RUHSA since 1970s for the welfare of the people of K.V. Kuppam block, complementing and enhancing the health services provided by the Government through its Primary Health Centres. He congratulated and thanked RUHSA, Christian Medical College for the thoughtful opening of the Emergency room and the upgrade in ambulatory care facilities for the poor in K.V. Kuppam block.
