FOREST MANAGEMENT

From lowland estate woodland management to upland plantation and everything in between, we have an enviable reputation for both design and delivery of various woodland management objectives in line with the owners requirements to the highest standards. Our experienced, multi-disciplined team is committed to delivering whatever our clients need, from generating income and managing commercial crops, to planting new hedgerows or providing an amenity planting scheme.

TIMBER HARVESTING
Timber harvesting is key to the profitability of your woodland and estate, so making the most of the tax-free income is paramount. With Bronwin & Abbey, this is all part of the service. Unlike many others in our industry, timber harvesting is an integrated part of our business, alongside reinstatement and successful establishment, providing a single in-house operation for our clients.
Our independence is our strength; we are not tied to any UK sawmills or harvesting companies so we are able to provide a truly impartial service, taking advantage of all marketing opportunities within the sector. We are also the market leaders in timber movement visibility and reporting, giving our clients complete transparency throughout the whole process. Selling timber can be a once-in-a-generation operation, so making sure every recoverable tonne is accounted for is paramount.
WOODLAND CREATION
Through our woodland creation service, together we can plant for the future, producing tax free income, as well as sequestering carbon and helping to combat climate change. Our role is to design, consult, deliver and maintain.
As a leading forestry sector provider solely owned by the UK’s leading farm management business, our unique position gives us a great understanding of your needs and the ability to make every acre count.
The UK has a target to plant 30,000 hectares of new woodland each year. Bronwin & Abbey is a registered project developer with the Woodland Carbon Code, meaning we can assist you with the registration of your planting schemes and the sale of carbon.

WOODLAND & FORESTRY CONTRACTING
Many of our woodland and forestry projects, from timber harvesting to forest road construction and fencing, call for the specialist skills of our long-standing contracting partners.
Working with the Bronwin & Abbey team for many years, our contractors are as dedicated to delivering the highest standards of workmanship as we are. Working to agreed budgets and with a detailed focus on health and safety, our contractors are all fully qualified, trained and insured.
Health and safety is paramount in this industry, and with this very much a priority, we support our contractors with our own rigorous health and safety standards which are audited to ISO 45001 (occupational safety & health) on an annual basis.
OUR INDEPENDENT YET COLLABORATIVE APPROACH IS KEY TO SUCCESSFUL DELIVERY
FOREST CERTIFICATION
We run a Group Forest Certification Scheme through the UK Woodland Assurance Scheme (UKWAS). It provides owners and timber processors with an internationally recognised standard which demonstrates that their woodlands are managed ethically and sustainably.
UKWAS certified woods can give greater access to the timber markets and, for some timber products, result in a price premium too. In addition, certification helps owners demonstrate they are meeting their environmental, social and corporate governance commitments.
VALUATIONS & ASSET APPRAISALS
Woodlands have proved to be an excellent investment in recent years offering considerable income earning opportunities from the sale of timber, capital appreciation and tax advantages.
As Chartered Surveyors and RICS Registered Valuers we offer a quality, bespoke service throughout the UK in the acquisition, sale and valuation of all woodland types from small amenity woodlands to large scale forestry investments.
