I grew up as an artistic individual and still enjoy all forms as art to this day. From playing the piano since the age of four to picking up photography and graphic design as hobbies in the past three years, art is an important aspect of my everyday life.
This portfolio is a collection of my creative work featuring a variety of media and concepts. I am actively seeking opportunities to expand my skill in design and hope that during my time studying Architecture at Laurentian University, I will achieve all my goals and more.

This is a functional pottery piece that I created to represent the saying “There’s no place like home”. I started off by brainstorming what “home” means to me. I then came up with the idea that home is where my family is. This simple depiction of a parent and child perfectly captures the affection and protection that one feels when they are at home, in their parent’s arms, experiencing a parent’s love.
MaterialGirlexplores the theme of consumerism, and how it affects human relationships. It is inspired by Roy Lichtenstein's art style and the pop art movement, and tells the story of a girl who only cares for her material possessions and picks her partners based on their wealth. It is a painting based on Madonna’s song of the same name. In a 1986 interview with Company Magazine, Madonna said, “I’m very career-oriented. You are
attractedtopeoplewhoareambitiousthatway, too, likeinthesong‘Material Girl’. You are attracted to men who have material things because that’s what pays the rents and buys you furs. That’sthesecurity.Thatlastslongerthan emotions.”While looking at this painting, I want the viewer to not only think about the song, but also its message on how consumerism affects human relationships.
MyworktitledArakuValley,Visakhapatnamisanabstractpaintingof natural scenery based on a photo I took on my trip to Araku Valley in 2013. This painting explores the concept of colour and mood. I paintedthemountainawarmcolouranditssurroundingscoolcolours tocreatecontrastandmakethemountainthefocalpointofthepiece.
According to colour psychology, red symbolizes energy and excitement; green symbolizes tranquility, and purple symbolizes mystery and imagination. I chose these colours because they represent all the emotions I felt during my trip to the valley. Looking back at the photos from the trip, the scenery was dominated by shades of dull green which doesn’t convey emotions like excitement. However, these were the emotions that I felt at that moment. When looking at this painting, I want the viewer to experience the same feelingsIhadduringmytrip.
My series of watercolour paintings titled SeaMonsterCollectionis a set of four artworks depicting sea monsters from myths and stories. My interest in the subject matter comes from my love of legends, especially those that involve sea creatures. The series explores the theme of fantasy which is “a creation of the imaginative faculty whether expressed or merely conceived such as imaginative
fictionfeaturingespeciallystrangesettingsandgrotesquecharacters”(“Fantasy,” def.2.b).
The first painting, titled Krakens raseri (Kraken’s Fury in Norwegian), depicts the Krakenrisingoutoftheoceanandstaring menacingly while reaching for a ship. The Kraken is a giant squid from Norwegian legends that destroys the ships of sailors who cross its path. I use the element line to create a turbulent ocean and texture to achieve a rugged look that captures this stormysetting.
The second artwork titled τραγούδι σειρήνας (Siren Song in Greek), showsaSirensittingonarock, calling out to a ship in the distance. Sirens are creatures from Greek mythology that are known to lure sailors with sweet songs which will lead to the sailor’s untimely demise. In this piece, Iwasinterestedinexploringhowlooks can be deceiving. The siren is a monster regardless of her outer beauty.
The third piece titled ןתייוול (Leviathan in Hebrew) illustrates the Leviathan staring at Noah’s Ark. The Leviathan is a violent sea serpent from the Old Testament that can only be subdued by God. I used white acrylic paint to generateamistyatmosphereinthepainting.
The final painting in this series, titled Ot nafl’fhtagncthulhu(Rise of Cthulhu in R’Iyehian), portrays Cthulhu rising out of the ocean and staring at a ship in front of it. Cthulhu is a cosmic entitycreatedbyhorrorwriterH.P.Lovecraftand has the power to drive any human that looks at him to insanity. This piece features a scenic sunset reflected in a serene ocean which I achievedbyaddinglayersofpainttocreatedepth.
I have created an album cover for “La Campanella” by Niccolo Paganini using Adobe Creative Cloud Express as a way of visually representing the way I hear the piece andtheemotionsIassociatewithit.
“La Campanella” (The Little Bell) is the final movement of Paganini’s Violin Concerto No.2 in B Minor but is also played as a stand-alone showpiece. As I close my eyes and listen to the fast tempo and intricate passages, I can’t help but envision flames surrounding an equally fieryviolinist.
This is another album cover concept idea. “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” is a piece in the ballet The Nutcracker .
Theballerinaandsugarplumbackgroundalludetothe piece. The colours symbolize imagination as the original setting of this song in the ballet is in the main character’s dream. I was thinking of a hip hop remix of this piece I once heard while creating this design which is why I gave Tchaikovsky a chain and sunglasses.

George R.R. Martin once said, "When the sun has set, no candle can replace it". The majestic beauty of a sunset can bring solace to the gloomiest of days andenthrallthebusiestofpeople to just stop and watch one of nature's greatest wonders as the world slows down around them.
ThisphotoshowsasunsetthatI've captured with my digital camera to show its vibrant colours and how sunsets can be the only dynamic aspect in a moment where the rest of your surroundingsfreezeintime.
