From the time they come to us, our students embark upon a Sacred Heart journey. Whether as a junior kindergartener ready to explore in the classroom; a middle schooler climbing new academic heights; or a high schooler gazing at the college horizon — we partner with families to serve as trusted guides on this journey.
OWELCOME v to Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School
OSaint Rose Philippine Duchesne is often depicted with a map on her lap, representing her dream of traveling to the New World to establish Sacred Heart education.
Welcome to our home.
We are a Sacred Heart family rooted in a vibrant Catholic school community. Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat, who founded the Society of the Sacred Heart in France in 1800, envisioned an education that could transform the world. Her vision was realized in the United States when Saint Rose Philippine Duchesne in 1818. Villa Duchesne was founded for young women in 1929 in honor of this religious pioneer, with Oak Hill opening in 1971 for boys and girls.

OPEN OUR HEARTS
Our spiritual journey invites students to open their hearts to others. It’s a tall order in today’s “it’s-all-aboutme” culture, but this is the challenge we gladly accept as followers of Jesus Christ. And, as Christians, we teach our students to celebrate what is unique to other faiths while walking together in the beliefs that unite us.

OPEN OUR MINDS
A rigorous curriculum is the roadmap for our students’ academic journey. But, we know it’s the detours — the unexpected stops along the way — that often open a student’s mind to the joy of life-long learning. Our faculty serve as expert guides, supporting students when they stumble, preparing each student to pursue their passion in college and beyond.

OPEN OUR EYES
We are called to open students’ eyes to the journey of others. We turn our magnifying glass on the issues people are facing around the globe. In walking with others on their journey, students come to better understand the joys — and challenges — of the path they will choose one day.
OPEN OUR ARMS
Students do not journey alone. They travel alongside classmates from junior kindergarten through grade 12, guided by the adults in our school community. Building a strong community calls us to open our arms and celebrate the gifts of the individual. Consider it the ultimate road trip with your friends!

carry a PASSPORT to the world...
A Sacred Heart education is a journey, not a destination. Once begun, it is something that is lasting — a passport to the world with no expiration date. As our graduates leave our home, we know they carry with open hearts, open minds, open eyes, and open arms — everything they need to open worlds.
