Welcome to the 46th Annual Bonne Chance Auction!

As your Auction Co-Chairs, we would like to thank our many incredible volunteers and amazing school faculty who helped us to make this evening possible! You have all given generously of your time and talents, and we are eternally grateful to you all. It has been wonderful to watch our Sacred Heart community come together to share hours of laughter, work, and dedication for this year’s auction.

We have been blessed with an outpouring of support from volunteers, sponsors, and donors in our Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School community. Our dedicated volunteer staff worked tirelessly to gather all the items we have. Their enthusiasm, leadership, and willingness to tackle any task was sincerely appreciated. Every volunteer gave fully of themselves for the betterment of this School, and it truly shows when you look around the room tonight. All of our chairs and committees put their hearts into making this Prom a success. We want to thank each of you for everything.

We could not have pulled this all together without the help of our fantastically supportive School staff. Debbie Schlattman was there to guide and lead us every step of the way with her experience and wisdom. Dominic Key spent countless hours going over every detail with us, and always with a smile on his face. He was always there for us with excellent ideas, always answered our countless questions, and made our jobs infinitely easier. He had to put up with the two of us every day and we loved sharing all the stories and laughs with him. Christy Morgan kept us on the straight and narrow and helped us to handle all the nitty gritty details. She was wonderfully patient with us as we learned all the ins and outs of auction contracts and organization. Tricia Leone brought her creative mind to many of the beautiful ads and artwork you see tonight.

Specific rules for live and silent auction follow the catalog tabs for each section.

Each guest or couple attending Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School’s Bonne Chance Auction has been assigned a bid number. Your bid number has been linked to your name. Use the BidPal mobile bidding, which was set up at registration, to submit your bids. All silent auction bids must be placed using the BidPal mobile bidding on your phone or with a BidPal “personal shopper”. You will use your bid paddle for live auction bidding. For fixed priced purchases, such as Wine Pull, Bundt Cake Raffle, $10,000 Raffle, Sign-Up Parties, and Signature Drink, you will need to provide your bid number and show your Express Pay card. Do NOT allow anyone to use your paddle or Express Pay card, as you are responsible for purchases made with your bid number.

3.

At the close of the silent auction, mobile bidding will close and no new bids will be allowed. For security purposes, we do not store your credit card information.

4.

A “paid” receipt or Express Pay card must be presented to receive your auction item. If you did not elect for Express Pay, payment must be made at the Bank after 10:30 pm.

Cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express are the only forms of payment accepted. Payment on Saturday, November 11, 2017, is mandatory.

All sales are final.

No exchanges or returns unless specifically stated.

All gift certificates, trips, parties, or services must be used by November 11, 2018, unless otherwise specified by the donor.



Dinners, trips, party packages, etc. are the responsibility of the purchaser. Failure, for whatever cause, to arrange a meal, trip, party, etc. within the stated time limit and according to the specified conditions and/or limitations, imposes absolutely no obligation for refund on the donor or Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School. Sale to another party by the winning bidder imposes no obligation on the donor or Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School.

Auction Item Pick Up  

 

The successful bidder must present a winning bid statement along with an Express Pay receipt, or a “paid” receipt from the Bank, in order to pick up an item or certificate from the booth volunteer. The bank opens at 10:30 pm.

Any items not picked up the night of the auction must be claimed and removed from the gymnasium between 9:00 and 11:00 am on Sunday, November 12, 2017, unless other arrangements have been made prior to the end of the scheduled pick up deadline.

Some arrangements may be at the buyer’s expense, except where specified in the catalog description.

Failure to pick up an item by 11:00 am on Sunday, November 12, 2017 or to make alternative arrangements for pick up, indicates that the item is unclaimed and no refund will be provided.

7.

Values of items set forth by the donors are donor estimates and are not guaranteed by Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School for tax purposes or general value. Occupancy of condominiums and vacation homes are non-transferable.

8.

All goods and services purchased at Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School’s Bonne Chance Auction shall be used at the sole risk of the purchaser, and Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School or their representatives are not responsible or liable for any damage or injury occurring to any user of such goods and services. All items are sold “as is” and Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School or their representatives do not make any warranty or guarantee as to the merchantability or suitability of any such items.

9.

Please contact your tax advisor regarding the appropriate tax deduction for any item purchased at Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School’s Bonne Chance Auction.

10. Every effort has been made to compile an accurate catalog, including donor names and descriptions of auction items. If there are any errors or omissions, please accept our sincere apologies.

11. We trust our guests will drink responsibly, since our young ladies are present. We are happy to help arrange transportation home through a taxi service for anyone who so requests. Please see a member of the Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School team if assistance is needed.

Children’s Challenge Match

Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School and the Bonne Chance Auction Committee invite you to participate in our 2017 Children’s Challenge. This annual fund-a-need effort benefits our students, our endowment, and our facilities.

This year, an anonymous family from the Class of 2018 has made a leadership donation of $75,000 as a challenge to our School community. Help us match this dollar for dollar to advance our mission through Goal IV: the building of community as a Christian value. This year, the funds raised will be used to make renovations to the lobby and lounge of Kenefick Gym, as well as support a portion of the daily operations of the School.

This community space is used for all-school Masses, alumnae luncheon, Catholic Youth Council athletics, daily classes, trivia nights, school receptions, athletics, rentals, and Passport to Summer programs. This renovated space will highlight all that we have to celebrate at Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School, and make it a true welcome center for the thousands of individuals who gather under this roof each year.

The project will include restroom enhancements, improved display cases to celebrate our School’s achievements, additional charging stations, increased seating for community gathering, and improved lighting.

Our goal is to raise funds to match this Challenge of $75,000, and even exceed this initial matching gift, so that we may unlock the potential for additional renovations to this space.
