It’s time to celebrate!!!!

Welcome to the 45th Annual Bonne Chance Black Tie and Blue Jeans Auction For some time, we felt that one of the things that separates our school from others is our incredible Sacred Heart community, but that was never more evident than preparing for this evening. Our parents, faculty, staff, students, and alum have made the journey to this evening a labor of love. Throughout the months of planning, tireless organizing, phone calls, meetings and moments of worry, it has been our community that has sustained our drive to make this night the best ever. Your generous support and spirit of giving, along with God’s good grace, has been the true force behind this evening’s success.

A huge thank you to our committee chairs and their committee members, who spent countless hours making our shared vision a reality. Their heart and soul is evident throughout this evening and we couldn’t have done it without them.

We would also be remiss if we didn’t thank the incredible staff who, on a daily basis, kept us sane. Kathy Sperlo and Debbie Schlattman expertly, and PATIENTLY, guided us though the complex process and were always on call for our never-ending list of questions. Allison Oberkirsch’s attention to detail as well as her long hours allowed us to make those pesky, but necessary, deadlines, and Tricia Leone and her creativity gave our advertising the perfect finishing touch.

So, now all that’s left to do is sit back and enjoy a fabulous evening…

General Information & Rules 1.

Specific rules for live and silent auction follow the catalog tabs for each section.

Each guest or couple attending Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School’s Bonne Chance Auction has been assigned a bid number. Your bid number has been linked to your name. Use the BidPal mobile bidding, which was set up at registration, to submit your bids. All silent auction bids must be placed using the BidPal mobile bidding on your phone or with a BidPal “personal shopper”. You will use your bid paddle for live auction bidding. For fixed priced purchases, such as Wine Pull, Cupcake Raffle, $10,000 Raffle, Sign Up Parties, and Signature Drink, you will need to provide your bid number. Do NOT allow anyone to use your paddle, as you are responsible for bids made with your bid number.

3.

At the close of the silent auction, the mobile bidding will close and no new bids will be allowed. For security purposes, we do not store your credit card information.

4.

A paid receipt or express pay card must be presented to receive your auction item. If you did not elect for express pay, payment must be made at the Bank after 10:30 pm.

Cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover are the only forms of payment accepted.

Payment on Saturday, November 12, 2016, is mandatory.

General Auction Rules 

All sales are final.



No exchanges or returns unless specifically stated.



All gift certificates, trips, parties or services must be used by November 12, 2017, unless otherwise specified by the donor.



Dinners, trips, party packages, etc. are the responsibility of the purchaser. Failure, for whatever cause, to arrange a meal, trip, party, etc. within the stated time limit and according to the specified conditions and/or limitations, imposes absolutely no obligation for refund on the donor or Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School. Sale to another party by the winning bidder imposes no obligation on the donor or Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School.

6.

Item Pick Up  

 

The successful bidder must present a winning bid statement along with an express pay receipt, or a paid receipt from the bank, in order to pick up an item or certificate from the booth volunteer. The bank opens at 10:30 pm.

Any items not taken the night of the auction must be claimed and removed from the gymnasium between 9:00 and 11:00 am on Sunday, November 13, 2016, unless other arrangements have been made prior to the end of the scheduled pick up deadline.

Some arrangements may be at the buyer’s expense, except where specified in the catalog description.

Failure to pick up an item by 11:00 am on Sunday, November 13, 2016 or to make alternative arrangements for pick up, indicates that the item is unclaimed and no refund will be provided.

7.

Values of items set forth by the donors are donor estimates and are not guaranteed by Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School for tax purposes or general value. Occupancy of condominiums and vacation homes are non-transferable.

8.

All goods and services purchased at Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School’s Bonne Chance Auction shall be used at the sole risk of the purchaser, and Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School or their representatives are not responsible or liable for any damage or injury occurring to any user of such goods and services. All items are sold “as is” and Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School or their representatives do not make any warranty or guarantee as to the merchantability or suitability of any such items.

9.

Please contact your tax advisor regarding the appropriate tax deduction for any item purchased at Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School’s Bonne Chance Auction.

10. Every effort has been made to compile an accurate catalog, including donor names and descriptions of auction items. If there are any errors or omissions, please accept our sincere apologies.

11. We trust our guests will drink responsibly, since our young ladies are present. We are happy to help arrange transportation home through a taxi service for anyone who so requests. This year we have arranged a special discount code with D’Shofer, a professional designated driver service that will provide you a safe ride home in your own car. Children’s Challenge Match

2016 Children’s Challenge Match Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School and the Bonne Chance Auction Committee invite you to participate in our 2016 Children’s Challenge Match. This annual fund-a-need effort directly benefits our students and fortifies the School’s endowment.

This year, we have received a challenge grant in the amount of $100,000 from an anonymous donor to help the School continue to advance our academic and extracurricular programs, enhance our learning through innovation and global education, and ensure learning space outside of the traditional classroom. Our goal is to match this challenge grant by raising an additional $100,000 for the Children’s Challenge Match. Please raise your paddle and join us in this exciting endeavor!

The following programs will be directly supported by the Children’s Challenge Match:

Oak Hill MakerSpace | The Makerspace program is an interactive and community-oriented

lab located in the Duchesne Building. The program requires new materials and curriculum for the students throughout the year as well as professional development for our faculty. The Makerspace currently offers two 3D printers, an array of tools, a Lego center, a media studio, and more.

Global Education Center | The Global Education Center is our innovative and technology-

driven space for the School community. It will be built in a boardroom fashion with network and Skyping capabilities. The entire School community, including students, will utilize this center for project-based learning, to host speakers, conduct meetings, and much more.

Student commons | Student Commons with study areas and gathering spaces are in process

for grades 9-11. Your support of these areas will help promote intellectual growth, building of community, and personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom.

Media Arts Studio (Studio 116) | This state-of-the-art studio will benefit all members of our

school community. The studio and students are in need of a teleprompter and new in-studio camera.

Auction Times Live auction begins at 8:30 pm and will continue until the last item is sold.

To Bid   

All bids must be made by raising your numbered bid paddle. Your paddle with your bid number is in your registration packet and is linked to your name. Do not allow anyone to use your paddle, as you are responsible for bids made with your bid number.

The Auctioneer has the sole and final discretion to determine the successful bidder and to offer to resell any item if there is a dispute.

Acceptance of the successful bid by the Auctioneer is binding.
