Dr. Danyel Smith Dr. Danyel Smith is a wellness enthusiast, data storyteller, and health equity advocate. Dr. Smith is trained as a health psychologist with an emphasis on health equity in racially and ethnically minoritized groups.

Dr. Smith is currently a postdoctoral fellow in Cancer Population Sciences in the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University. She recently completed her doctoral degree in health psychology in May of 2023. She specializes in social and cultural factors that inform diet and physical activity behaviors in Black Americans. Dr. Smith also completed her Master’s Degree in Psychology in 2020, as well as her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and Bachelor’s of Arts in African American Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2017.

Danyel is passionate about community health promotion and served with a local non-profit, Greater Richmond Fit4Kids, from 2015-2023. Her passion for community outreach can be traced back to her hometown in Hampton Roads, VA
