Q&A Webinar for Vaya Health Network Providers Friday, April 1, 2022, 11 a.m.–12 p.m. Join our biweekly Provider Q&A Webinars for the most up-to-date information on topics that affect Vaya network providers. We will address topics and questions specific to transitioning Cardinal Innovations providers at the end of the session. We encourage all network providers to attend. Registration is not required. The link to each webinar is published both the week prior to and the week of the event in the Provider Communication Bulletin.

Q&A WEBINAR FOR VAYA NETWORK PROVIDERS – APRIL 1, 2022

AlphaMCS Transition Update As announced in the Vaya Health Provider Communication Bulletin 2021-22 Issue 41 , published Jan. 25, 2022, Vaya will transition from a Wellsky-hosted version of AlphaMCS to an in-house version as Wellsky ends support for the AlphaMCS product. This change has been rescheduled to take effect on April 4, 2022. To prepare for the transition, Vaya will disable all provider AlphaMCS portal user accounts at 5 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2022. We will reactivate user accounts no later than 8 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2022. Vaya network providers will access the new environment at https://alphamcs.vayahealth.com/portallogin. Please note that the new URL will not be active until April 4. This URL can be used for service authorization, claims processing, and provider profiles associated with Vaya. Users will not have the ability to access or submit information to other LME/MCOs through this URL. Beginning April 4, providers who direct submit 837 files to Vaya will use the SFTP connection information and credentials they received from Vaya on Feb. 17, 2022, with the email subject line “AlphaMCS Transition Planning: Submitting 837 files to Vaya Health.” The in-house AlphaMCS environment will be a duplicate of the current system. All data in the hosted version will remain available in the new system, and portal user IDs and passwords in use at the time


of the transition to the in-house AlphaMCS system will not change. Vaya will use the in-house version until we move to a new claims processing application, Conduent HSP, expected later this year. Vaya will address questions regarding the AlphaMCS transition during our Q&A Webinar for Vaya Network Providers at 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2022.

COVID-19 NEWS AND UPDATES COVID-19 Flexibilities Extended Certain flexibilities associated with the COVID-19 pandemic that were previously set to sunset on March 31, 2022, have been extended to June 30, 2022. Please thoroughly review NC Medicaid SPECIAL BULLETIN COVID-19 #237: Extension of NC State of Emergency Temporary Flexibilities. Release of Information Guidance for Providers Vaya is providing guidance on the release of member information as technical assistance for providers. You should seek independent legal advice for any specific questions regarding your obligations under state and federal confidentiality laws, rules, and regulations, (e.g., HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, N.C.G.S. Chapter 122C). The Privacy Rule provides federal protections for personal health information held by covered entities and gives patients a variety of rights with respect to that information. At the same time, the Privacy Rule is balanced so that it permits the disclosure of personal health information needed for patient care and other important purposes.
