Vaughan Architecture LTD aims to develop and enhance the needs and requirements of the public sector including education, health and social needs. With the innovative and engaging private sector including procurement and funding vehicles to deliver very needed new facilities and services
Embracing this collaboration between public and private sectors is, we believe, fundamental to being able to respond to the economic conditions we now face today. Whether that be through the bringing together of private sponsorship to a newly formed academy or free school to the development of a mixed use project involving private and social housing needs.
Through our experience over the last 15 years, this has allowed Vaughan Architecture to create high quality, nationally recognised projects such as the innovative Manchester Schools Framework and the award winning Workpods Office development at Robin Hood Airport, Finningley. This has led to ground breaking methods of procurement and allowed the new schools at Green End Primary, St Agnes, Main Road and Old Moat to be created.

'Nick had responsibility for the teams that designed 2 award winning, major school developments whilst I was Assistant Chief Executive at St Helens Council. these being Cowley Language College, a 22million scheme compromising both new build and the remodeling of an existing building and HOPE Academy, a 30million new build. Nick's wide experience, flexibility and his recognition of clients needs, aspirations and the benefits of integrated teams in the construction process will enable him to readily adopt the principles advocated for public sector procurement in the recent Government Construction Strategy, for the benefit of his clients and all building users'

The directors of this successful school wanted to be able to offer more school places to the local community as soon as possible. Therefore they looked at creating a new free school and off-site construction was deemed the best solution for the build. 2018
Vaughan Architecture was involved in this difficult and challenging scheme from inception through to completion. Located on a plot between 2 existing established properties having a reduced plot width and a difference in level of cira 4m from road to garden level this scheme design needed an innovative design solution. Structured over 3 floors with garage, open plan living and 4 bedrooms distributed across the upper floors the building benefits from enhanced envelope insulation, rainwater harvesting and sedum roof finished whilst maintaining a strong, contemporary architectural design whilst utilizing traditional materials.

A unique opportunity with this project is to rejuvenate a prominent 4-storey building close to the law courts and LGI in Leeds City Centre. The project involved the complete redesign, planning and refurbishment across all floors to provide the new headquarters for the world-renowned RM-UK hair and beauty salon company. Vaughan Architecture worked closely with the client to carefully plan and remodel the existing building set within a sensitive conservation area of Leeds providing excellent customer experience on all floors. The project encompassed existing timber roof trusses refurbished and treated, floors and stairs replanned and new lift facilities integrated with a complicated building structure.
