WHAT’S ON

Experience the thrill of learning!

Welcome

As we enter the heat of Summer, things are warming up at Vaughan Public Libraries as we continue to be your best source of summer reading selections. Whether looking for something hot off the Bestsellers List or an old favourite, stop by and pick up your books or access the vast variety of ebooks through our website to atisfy your reading desires. VPL also offers a great variety of activities for everyone.

On Saturday July 26th, we are hosting CBC Kids Reads! Pals Gary the Unicorn, Mr. Orlando, Cottonball, Mosey, and Stuffy will share their love of reading with an amazing live TV special at Civic Centre Resource Library. This interactive show will feature video storytimes from celebrity readers, plenty of audience participation, and an opportunity to meet your favourite CBC Kids friends! CBC Kids Reads will be a great day out for the family, where you can celebrate the best kids’ books and see the magic of television at work.

For teens, our Empower YOUth programming has everything from learning to make your own bubble tea to customizing a charcuterie board with a laser cutter, or becoming a certified babysitter.

Adults have a host of culinary and health literacy programs to enjoy. They can roll the dice at Vellore Village’s boardgame café, learn retirement plan basics, or discovery coping strategies to help children deal with anxiety. Finally, older adults can bring the spirit of Avonlaea to the kitchen by discovering recipes inspired by Anne of Green Gables or you can discover how best to renew your license with the help of the Ministry of Transportation.

Enjoy your Summer at VPL!
