HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The base rate to have a custom designed yearbook is only $899. That comes with a fully designed front cover, player and coach rosters, a team photo page, a team schedule page, and 16 pages to sell advertisements and Well Wishes. On the next page, you can find upgrades to enhance your yearbook.
WHO IS DESIGNING OUR YEARBOOK?
Varsity Night was founded by Barry Beal, a long-time college athletics communications professional who specializes in layout and design work. Barry has served on national committees judging college football yearbooks and programs, and he also won a national award for a basketball yearbook he produced. Barry began his athletics journey as a public address announcer for high school football and basketball in suburban Pittsburgh, and he wants to bring professionally-produced publications to the high school level.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ADVERTISEMENT AND A WELL WISH?
Typically, an advertisement comes from a business and may include their logo, a coupon or a deal and their contact information. A Well Wish is a message from friends and family that is directed at particular player and doesn’t include any sort of advertisement. There are examples of Well Wishes in the book.
DOES THE SCHOOL DO ANY OF THE WORK?
The school provides the photography, sells its own advertisements and Well Wishes, and is responsible for printing the yearbooks. Varsity Night offers photography, printing and sales services at an additional charge. Please inquire for more information on these services and the associated rates.
HOW MUCH REVENUE CAN THIS YEARBOOK PRODUCE?
Every school district, community and area of the country are different. With upgrades that include unlimited advertisement sales, you may have an expense of $1,500-$3,000 for your yearbook. That expense could potentially be covered by 100 of your players each selling a $30 Well Wish. That leaves every ad sale as pure profit. A back cover ad could sell for $1,500. We’ve sold them at NCAA Division III for $4,000. A school could easily see a net profit of $10,000 from this yearbook with ad sales. It could be less, but it also could be a lot more.

Eric Johnson is the school’s all-time single-season rushing leader with 2,131 yards in 2014. He now plays for the Seattle Seahawks after an All-American career at the University of Michigan from 2015-17.

Varsity Night works with local photographers who meet a standard set of guidelines in terms of experience, equipment and talent. Varsity Night works with the school to set a budget, and we take care of the rest!
PRINTING
Standard practice for Varsity Night is to provide the school with a print-ready PDF that can be sent to any professional printer. If you’re looking to remove that from your plate, don’t worry!
Varsity Night will work with an approved printer with an approved budget from the school to get your programs printed and shipped directly to you.
AD SALES
Besides creating a momento for your student-athletes and their families, a Varsity Night football yearbook also creates a new revenue stream. We know that you’re busy as a high school athletics director or head coach, so we can help build your revenue stream!
Varsity Night will assume the responsibility of selling advertisements for your yearbook at a 50-50 split. That’s right, you don’t have to lift a finger to cold call a single business! Results can vary, but there is no upfront cost to handing your ad sales over to Varsity Night.
