Development In The Tri-Cities: Warangal Hanamkonda – Kazipet
Through Urban Design Interventions
The architectural character of the Warangal fort is distinct, but unfortunately, it is not adequately presented to visitors. The complex is poorly maintained, and accessing other structures within the fort is challenging. To address these issues, strategies have been implemented to preserve the site, improve accessibility, and provide amenities such as refreshments. These interventions aim to create a safe public space. Importantly, all the interventions have been carefully executed to ensure they do not disrupt the architectural character of the site. Environmentally friendly materials have been used, and the color schemes have been chosen to harmonize with the surrounding context.

• The street surrounding the fort complex is not being adequately maintained. Pedestrians are at risk due to the absence of a designated pedestrian path and moving vehicles. Furthermore, the width of the road is not consistent.
• To address these issues, a newly designed road has been incorporated. This road features a twoway layout, with designated pedestrian paths on either side and a space for vendor carts to the right

• The road is constructed with concrete material.

• The designated pedestrian path is made using granite stones that are locally available. It is elevated at a height of 0.15 meters from the road surface.
• The designated vendor path is made using grass, with benches placed at intervals as rest points. This path is also elevated at a height of 0.15 meters from the road surface.

Amenities
• Surveillance is implemented around the fort using CCTV to ensure security and prevent misbehavior. The surveillance cameras utilized are 4MP HD ColorHunter Wide Angle Fixed Bullet Network Cameras, providing a 160-degree viewing angle, capable of observing up to 25 meters and detecting up to 64 meters.

• A refreshment area is available for visitors, with four individual stores located at the center of the plaza.
• 4 local crafts shops are located to support the local vendor’s products

• These pathways also serve as boundaries to restrict visitors from accessing the ruins.

• showcase platform is installed at the intersection of the pathways, featuring the fort's history and stories, along with a central representation model.

• The platform is constructed from bamboo and has dimensions of 14 meters by 7 meters, with wooden planks utilized for the display.
Signages
• Informational signages are placed at appropriate locations to provide relevant information such as maps for directions and fort history.
• Regulatory signages are utilized to indicate rules and regulations to be followed and avoided within the fort premises.
• Directional signages are strategically positioned at regular intervals to assist visitors in navigating the area and determining the direction to the next destination.

Interactive projections
Interactive Projections And Digital Interactive Kiosk
•To enhance the visitor experience, an interactive projection and digital interactive kiosk should be incorporated near the main entrance of the Warangal Fort Complex.
•Interactive kiosks are user-friendly and the data is already stored in a neat format, eliminating the need for guides and ensuring that visitors receive accurate and complete information.
