Edner Gardner always made time to cook. She started cooking at the age of twelve. She said it takes organization when you have seven children. Her daughter Vickie Colemon shares her mother’s secret recipe today with all mothers. She says it is the moisture of the cake you should take pride in as she did.

Lemon Creme Cheese
PoundCake
Ingredients:
1 pound of butter
1 8-ounce package of creme cheese
3 cups of sugar
9 eggs
3 cups of sifted All purpose flour
2 teaspoons of vanilla flavoring
2 teaspoons of lemon flavoring
Directions:
Combine first 2 ingredients beat well: Gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy for 5 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, beat well after each addition. Add flour to cremed mixture, beat well. Stir in vanilla and lemon flavoring. Pour batter into a well greased 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 525 degqees for 90 minutes. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely.
Lemon Glaze Directions:
1 cup of powder sugar
½ cup of water & ½ cup of fresh lemon juice in a bowl.
Drizzle over cake while cake is still warm.
