1. First up was Japanese designer, Remi Ooki who showcased her artistic ability to fuse the traditional with the modern and the East and West with her kid’s brand WATCHA GONNA. 2. Vancouver based brand Little Princess Gown, founded by Parvaneh Shirvani Beni, presented her S/S20 collection Watch Me. The line consisted of princess gowns and party dresses. 3. Fashion Meets Science from VCC and Healthy Starts is a collaborative line from students, Alumni and instructors at VCC along with research scientists at BC Children’s Hospital. Drawing inspiration from Dr. Michael Kobor’s research lab, the SS20 line, titled Model Organisms Collection, features a range of pieces defined by bright splashes of colour and creative patterns related to molecular biology. Fashion Meets Science’s unique showcasing of scientific research creates a connection between the worlds of art and science. 4. Beating drums and Chinese flutes enthralled all in a journey to the East. Yan Zhang is behind the label SUNCUN, which fuses Oriental and contemporary styles. 5. Spanish designer Nora Muñoz, showcased her brand Nora Muñoz Moda Infantil and her new collection Renacer. Nora Muñoz Moda Infantil utilized light fabrics and lace, giving a touch of elegance and comfort to children’s clothing. 6.Stage one academy presents F&R Sleep, a collection of children’s sleepwear by designer Melissa Yin.

Runway Stage One Academy, located in Richmond, BC provides education in a range of art forms. Their programs allow children to work toward their dreams in a fun and educational environment from an early age. This season at Vancouver Kids Fashion Week, audience members were treated to a show by two performers from Stage One Academy.

The top girls preformed a hip hop themed dance number on the runway to close out the lay day of shows. The talent and charisma of the young dancers were both beautiful and inspiring, no doubt sparking the interest of many of the children watching the show.

1. Japan based designer Madoka Takahashi presented her brand Présent de l’ondée’s SS20 collection Play Sensibly. Play Sensibly featured vibrant colours and styles, starting off with two girls wearing black and cream flare dresses with large bows, followed by a boy wearing a mini tuxedo jacket. 2. Launched in 2016, the Canadian brand Little Yogi questioned the impact of the fashion industry on child development by challenging gender stereotypes. Mini models showcasing the brand’s “equality and durability” attitude. Reflecting the brand’s belief of ethic and eco-responsible, this new collection creatively combined cotton with bamboo fabrics, in line with comfortness, latest trends, and a sense of playfulness.
6. Audience members were treated to the pop colours and eclectic designs from Earth and Us. The fashion-forward children’s clothing brand showcased casual and refined designs for little girls and boys — from tie dye shirts, to graphic design and plaid shirts, to neon colours, and metallic green and pink skater skirts. Earth and Us presented a collection ideal for someone who wants ‘throwing something on’ and look stylish.
3. Fascino Faces presented Sahil Jaisingh, a designer from Faridabad that specializes in fashion with a huge visual impact. 4. Fascino Faces presented Ank by Amrit Kaur. Designer Amrit Kaur draws inspiration from the world of art, aiming to add drama to fashion. With Ank’s couture line and fledgling children’s line, it’s easy to coordinate beautiful matching outfits for mom and daughter. The level of detailing in each piece combined with the added drama the feathers and sparkling sequins give the collection a very luxurious feel, allowing every little girl to feel like a princess when wearing the beautiful pieces. 5. Putzi brought matching two-piece sets and clean, minimalist fabrics to the runway.

RE/TUNE Modeling was founded in 2015 and is based in Toronto, Canada. There are four departments in RE/ TUNE: Academy, Agency, Competition and Fashion Events. RE/TUNE Academy has three divisions: RE/TUNE Modeling Academy, RE/ TUNE Talent Academy and RE/TUNE Fashion Academy.
The models represented by RE/TUNE Agency have participated in New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, Los Angeles Fashion Week, Vancouver Fashion Week, Toronto Fashion Week and China International Fashion Week.
RE/TUNE Competition and Fashion Events department organize IMA International SuperModel Competition and MODE 6IX Fashion Event every year. Those events provide platforms for the industry professionals to promote themselves, share ideas and build networks.
RE/TUNE Modeling Academy is committed to train and empower models of different ages - kids and adults, to meet the demands of European, North American and Asian markets. RE/TUNE Modeling Academy currently operates in three cities: Toronto, Montreal and Chicago. With celebrity instructors, RE/TUNE Talent Academy now provides acting programs for children, which offers them training for performing arts at early stage of childhood. RE/TUNE Fashion Academy is committed to share and popularize education of beauty for the general public. It currently offers Styling&Etiquette workshops and KOL/fashion bloggers courses. The artist and photography duo Feli & Pepita are renowned for their distinctive and innovative photography and their strong sense of narrative. They work with a variety of luxury fashion brands and are regular contributers to international fashion magazines, such as Harper´s Bazaar and Marie Claire. Their works have been displayed in an array of exhibitions, most recently in solo shows in Vancouver at the VKFW, in Tokyo and in their hometown Cologne, Germany.
