Hair loss, dandruff and even dehydrated hair all start with scalp problems. Find a shampoo and hair care range that offers the exact fix for your hair woes. A good tip is never to use water that is too hot, as this can dry and damage the scalp and lead to hair growth problems.
MANE KNOW - HOW
A change is good Change your shampoo every 6 to 8 weeks. Your hair can become accustomed to the same shampoo day in day out, and this can reduce the shampoo’s effectiveness and results. If you usually use a moisturising shampoo then try a clarifying shampoo every third or fourth wash.
Think before you swim We know we should, but who really likes to don a swim cap (not very trendy are they)? The best advice is to thoroughly wet your hair (tying it up if long) with clean water before diving in. This will “coat” your hair so that the chlorine doesn’t soak right in and start its path of destruction.
1. Overall beautifying mask WHAT YOU NEED: > > >
1 ripe avocado ½ cup coconut milk 3 teaspoons olive oil
Mash up the avocado, add coconut milk and olive oil and stir quickly. Warm up the mix slightly, place it in a bowl over a pan of boiling water or microwave it for a couple of seconds. Apply the mask to your hair, starting from the roots. Massage into the scalp then leave for 30 minutes before washing off thoroughly and styling.
2. DE-FRIZZ MASK
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Apply mask to hair and massage from roots to ½ cup honey ½ cup cup natural yogurt ends. Leave for 20 minutes 1 tablespoon almond oil before washing off thoroughly and styling.

Mix equal parts of sunscreen and conditioner and dilute with a little water. Put your mix in a spray bottle. Spray on hair liberally before hitting the beach or heading out into a sun-drenched day. If your hair is light, add a few of squirts of lemon juice for sun-kissed, California-style highlights.

Pastel gradient Pastel shades are really perfect for spring! They are great for doing subtle gradients because the colours are so complementary! Gradients are also easy to create. Just use a make-up sponge for this great look! Top it off with a shimmer or fine glitter polish to really blend the colours together.
Tribal nail art Tribal prints have been on trend for a while now. A lot of work goes into such an intricate design but practice makes perfect! Mix and match different colours to create a unique design every time! Be creative with dots, chevrons and by varying the thickness of your lines.

Flower mani You can also jazz up plain, pastel manis with some flower nail art. These nails are super cheery! You’ll see how the addition of a bright yellow flower motif can make any outfit look spring-ready! Such nail art can be achieved with everyday items like a toothpick to draw the petals, and the end of a bobby pin to dot the centres.

Sure, going for a spa session with your mum is great. But doing it for her (and she for you!) can make for a great bonding session.
Why not give her a manicure as a gift? Those hands that have helped care for you and the family need some pampering!
Prepare: Essential oils, exfoliator, a facial mask, toner, eye cream, moisturiser. Tips: Remember, your skin condition and your mum’s may be different. You may be more concerned with brightening, while she may want skin firming therapy. Use suitable products for your skin type and needs.
Prepare: Nail clipper, buff, cuticle cutter, file, cuticle oil, nail polish. Tips: Get matchy-matchy with her. While matching outfits are cheesy, similar nails aren’t. Remember how you used to wear friendship bands with your BFF? Tell your mum you’ll stand by her by donning the same nail colours.
Unless you absolutely know what she wants, shopping with her will be the best way to get her the perfect gift. The trip will also help you bond and understand each other more. Prepare: Your credit card. Tips: Find out what her favourite products are – you may get introduced to great brands. Share with her your favourite ones too! Invest in products that are suitable for both of you so you can nick from her stash and vice versa.
