A resume provides employers with an overview of the qualifications, skillsets, and experiences an individual possess for a job and/or internship opportunity. It allows the candidate to highlight their educational background, interests, strengths, transferable skills, and qualifications that are unique to the position. Creating a well-written resume allows the candidate to market themselves and to create a great first impression as employers review their application. It’s important to create a professional resume that represents the type of work an individual can produce for a company in the future by highlighting their expertise, experiences, and skillsets onto their resume. For this assignment, students will be required to update their resume, which includes assessing their education, summary of qualification, experiences, honors/extracurricular activities, and additional sections if applicable (i.e. academic projects, volunteer/community service, coursework, conferences, etc.).
