Travis Scott was the third child and only boy born to the union of Robbie and Elizabeth Scott on December 11, 1967.

A very active and adventurous child, he loved to swim, play outside, and tore up enough bikes and big wheels playing Evil Knievel He played basketball at the Inglewood Y.M.C.A. and baseball at Harvard Park. Then, there were the drums, one of his greatest loves. Not only did Travis play in the band at Inglewood High, and Grambling State University he also played at churches around the city, and was in a group Saying that He loved music is really an understatement Earth Wind and Fire was his favorite group, and everybody knows Prince was his favorite male singer.

Travis' smile was a light, and he was always the life of the party There was never a dull moment when he was present because he knew how to make people laugh. He was an extraordinary person.

His greatest achievements were his children, whom he adored He also was very proud to be a Grambling State University Graduate, a part of the Grambling Tiger Band Alumni Association, a member of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity and a distinguished member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated These are just a few of his accolades

First and foremost, Travis loved The Lord and praised God every day. Travis loved his family and friends dearly, he was our “Gentle Giant” and God's vessel.

Because Travis trusted God, he outlived the prognosis given to him by man His life was a testimony. Travis lived a good life, and even through his illness he still praised God. And through his Praise, he had a direct line to God.

We must rejoice in knowing Travis is resting with the Lord, with no more pain, no more seizures and he will be able to see again.

Travis was called home on November 27, 2022, he was preceded in death by both of his parents

He leaves to cherish his memory, his three children, seven grandchildren, his sisters, nephews, nieces, and a host of cousins, friends, aunts and uncles.

When Great Trees Fall

When great trees fall, rocks on distant hills shudder, lions hunker down in tall grasses, and even elephants lumber after safety.

When great trees fall in forests, small things recoil into silence, their senses eroded beyond fear. When great souls die, the air around us becomes light, rare, sterile. We breathe, briefly. Our eyes, briefly, see with a hurtful clarity.

Our memory, suddenly sharpened, examines, gnaws on kind words unsaid, promised walks never taken.

Great souls die and our reality, bound to them, takes leave of us. Our souls, dependent upon their nurture, now shrink, wizened. Our minds, formed and informed by their radiance, fall away. We are not so much maddened as reduced to the unutterable ignorance of dark, cold caves. And when great souls die, after a period peace blooms, slowly and always irregularly. Spaces fill with a kind of soothing electric vibration. Our senses, restored, never to be the same, whisper to us. They existed. They existed. We can be. Be and be better. For they existed.
