Proposal

Our Mission

The First Coast Association of Realtist (FCAR) is the local board for the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB®). The purpose of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers® is to enhance the professional and business conditions of NAREB® Realtist® members and strengthening the consumer capacity of Black, minority, and emerging target market segments that Realtist® serve.

By promoting the real estate industry in general, utilizing economic, political, legal, and social leverage to remediate disparate and discriminatory housing and property ownership policies and practices prevailing in the United States.

We invite you to partner with us and join us our initiative to help educate our community on the value of homeownership as well as financial literacy.

A Brief History

After World War II, the nation remained confronted with vestiges ofdeep-seated racial segregation that were becoming increasingly difficult impacted citizens to endure. During the postwar years, Black Americans' aspirations for a better life in America were emerging. Black people were attaining gainful employment, andthe Supreme Court had finally passed a ruling that restrictivecovenants and private agreements to exclude specified races fromthe ownership and occupancy of real property in exclusively white neighborhoods were not enforceable under the law.

Like housing, schools were still segregated, a condition fallaciously justified under the "separate but equal" notion. But despite court rulings, discriminatory housing practices still prevailed as equal housing had not yet become reality. It was in this environment of abject racial discrimination that the soon to become "First Realtists"met in Tampa, Florida, on the sweltering night of July 29, 1947, and founded the National Association of Real Estate Brokers® (NAREB®).

On that night, the Founders committed to the fulfillment of the principle, "Equal Housing Opportunity for All."

Realtist Defined

What is a Realtist?

A Realtist is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, NAREB®, an organization that was founded because African Americans could not become Realtors® . NAREB® members, include real estate agents, brokers, appraisers, contractors, developers, mortgage brokers, closing agents, loan officers, & other professionals in real estate.

What We Do:

Our 2024-2025 theme, "Acquiring Keys, Deeds, & LLCs" speaks directly to our national vision to foster the expansion of inter-generational wealth creation by Black households through promotion and retention of elevating levels of real property ownership investments sustained by NAREB's enduring commitment to preservation and fulfillment of the Realtist credo, "Democracy in Housing."

We are dedicated to fostering relationships with our real estate partners as we work together to provide excellent service to our mutual customers.

FCAR's 2024-2025 calendar offers a myriad of opportunities which includes our flagship events, home buyer seminars, workshops, business to business networking opportunities; and community outreach initiatives.

Whether you are interested in expanding or enhancing your company’s diversity programs, presenting affordable and sustainable mortgage lending products, participating as a supporter of financial literacy and homebuyer education programs, or engaging with Realtist in our marketplace, FCAR is the perfect organization to partner with to help your organization to acheive their goals.

• 2024 Realtist week participation - speak at Community Wealth Building Day event

• Speaking opportunity at two events of choice

• Lead Partner - 4 seats at year end event/installation

SILVER $5,000

• Corporate and (1) individual annual membership

• Opportunity to distribute literature during all events

• Recognized as Silver Partner/Logo placement on website & all advertising (i.e. digital & print media)

• Speaking opportunity during 1 lunch and learn event

• Two seats at end-of-year event OR installation

BRONZE $2,500

• Corporate & (1) individual annual membership
