Vanessa Patitucci, known artistically as “La Patitucci,” is a Roman artist born in 1990. Throughout her artistic journey, she has explored the nuances of traditional art, specializing in oil painting and embracing new frontiers such as modeling and digital drawing. Her initial repertoire focuses on an informal abstract style, where she experiences the liberatingand emotional effect of painting characterized by the absence of normative aspects in favor ofinstinctive action: marks, colors, and drips, an innovative and experimental use of materials that contrasts and, at the same time, interacts in an unusual way with traditional painting techniques. By the end of 2022, the artist shifted towards figurative expressionism, blending dramatic and unsettling distortions. Her works express an inner conflict, where the distortion of self-perception conveys human fragility, capturing the emotional intensity that hides beauty and the complexity of emotions within pain. Spontaneous and sincere, she seems intent on shaping art based on the moods of the moment, imprinting her fantasies into it and alternating between calm and agitation, carefree and concern, never the same as herself.
