Van Eaton Galleries Presents “Cinderella” premiered on February 15, 1950 and became Disney’s best-performing animated film since “Snow White”. The feature’s characters became very popular, and Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother, and Jaq and Gus were soon found on various toys, books, and puppets in the 1950s. The revenue from box office sales and merchandise provided Disney with much-needed funds. The continued popularity of merchandise from his earlier films and this new revenue provided Disney with the capital to move forward on his live-action movies and TV shows of the 50s, as well as the Disneyland project.

The cel of Lady Tremain is matching to the background while the cels of Cinderella and the Duke were added later. The cel of Cinderella has been trimmed to image and placed on a new cel.
