FISHER PRICE TOYS

isher-Price Toys, Inc. began in 1930 and offered their first toy for public sale in 1931. Dedicated to creating toys that were high in quality, excelled in ingenuity, and required children to take action, the company became well-known and recognized for its often brightimagery and strong construction. In 1935, after seeing the potential of using Disney characters on their toy lines, Fisher-Price became a licensee of Disney under Kay Kamen, and created a variety of wooden pulltoys. Many of these toys would create noises when pulled, and their appeal allowed for strong sales under their Disney contract until 1959. Such a long and uninterrupted relationship between the two companies was unusual, as certain resources typically went towards the efforts in World War II, and caused many companies who used those resources in their toys to halt production.
