The Boulders is a famous golf & spa resort surrounded by a large 3,700 home community. The resort is named for its massive boulder formations, said to be 12 million years old. More than 770 single family homes on an average lot size of 20,000 square feet. Homes are located in both Carefree and Scottsdale. More than half of the 1,300 acres is dedicated natural Sonoran desert. The Boulders are located on the Border of Scottsdale, in the small town of Carefree. The town shops are less than a mile away. Carefree is also bordering Cave Creek, known for its Rodeo and country western shops and restaurants. Home sizes are modest and many are under 3,000 square feet. Architecture here favors Santa Fe style with massive wood beams and Saltillo tile floors. Residents have the opportunity to become members of the golf & spa resort, with two championship golf courses, the popular spa and multiple tennis and pickleball courts and leagues.
