Located in the foothills, the streets here provide even the most athletic residents a great workout. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy the variations in incline for walking, jogging and bicycling. Wide lot set-backs, filled with indigenous flowering desert vegetation provide golf course and mountain views. Dark sky ordinances allow for dramatic sunset walks at dusk. Hillside homes provide elevated views and incline, while flat portions of the Valley meander through the golf courses for cool breezes off the lush lawns. Residents enjoy the cool mornings and dusk year-round, including the hot summer months when our lack of humidity provides exceptional morning and evening temperatures.

38 year Paradise Valley homeowner.
I purchased my first home in PV in the 1980s while just starting my real estate career. I love PV's character, diversity of architecture, mountain views, dark skies, and very efficient police department and caring neighbors, as well as its proximity to Scottsdale’s main shopping, dining and entertainment. It fits our active outdoor lifestyle yearround: We run, walk, hike, bike and golf without having to cross any major roads. The foothills and large lots provide variety and beautiful natural Sonoran vegetation and wildlife and enough incline for a challenging work out. Across the street we have our Gyms, Salons, Sprouts, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Fry’s, Safeway and and dozens of restaurants and shops. There is a large Town Woman’s Group, with a full calendar of activities like bridge, happy hour, gourmet cooking, theatre, book clubs, museums, pickleball, an annual fashion show, Paddle boarding, hiking, culinary events, yappy hour, and dance and the list continues. –Denise van den Bossche
HISTORY
Settlement in Paradise Valley began just after World War II. The homes were modest in size and style, and they typically occupied 1 to 5 acres In the late 1950s, Phoenix and Scottsdale were looking to expand their respective boundaries, so residents formed a "Citizens Committee for the Incorporation of the Town of Paradise Valley, Arizona" with the main goals to keep zoning to a one house per acre minimum; to keep the area entirely residential; and to keep government regulation to a minimum. The town became a reality in 1961. Many of the original homes included incredible estates of some of the preeminent founding families of Arizona and other parts of the country. Several mansions have been preserved and are now resorts and/or residences
