Dolores De Alba has lived a life full of adventures, friendship, laughter, and challenges.
Thanks to her positive attitude, she’s weathered the storms and ventured out the other side with a fresh perspective. “I try not to take myself or life too seriously,” Dolores says. “There is almost always something to be grateful for, to be joyful for, and something to laugh about.” As she heads toward her next chapter in life, Dolores feels grateful for all the moments she’s had and looks forward to everything still left to experience.
Dolores has dedicated much time and energy into her business, blush: a day spa, which has recently undergone a significant expansion. The new 2,800-square-foot space will provide an enhanced experience for clients to have mind, body, and spirit connection. Dolores explains that she’s

been manifesting this updated space for years. “I know that a big part of my life purpose here is creating a space where people feel nurtured, celebrated, pampered, heard, balanced, healed, and given the space to experience the most advanced, result-oriented holistic treatments and products to help them achieve their goals for glowing skin, a rejuvenated and repaired body, and a nourished spirit,” she shares. Dolores credits the blush therapists and estheticians with helping nurture a “beautiful tapestry of energy” at the day spa.
Being The Social’s feature for March is incredibly special for Dolores. March is International Women’s Month, and for Dolores, recognizing the strength, love, and determination of the strong women in her life is very important. “My soul sisters are everything, and I have such an amazing respect for women in every shape and form—entrepreneurs, stay-at-home moms, aunts, grandmothers, and female couples,”
she says. “Being a woman is fabulous, and we should celebrate each other every day.” Dolores says that Although she is mom to none, she is aunt to many, a role in which she thrives. “I have joyfully embraced my role as an auntie,” she says. “Being an aunt without having your own kids allows for very special relationships with children and young adults. I have joyfully embraced the role of the fun, slightly crazy, auntie, which entails being a no-BS mentor, confidant, frivolous gift giver, and shenanigans partner.” During the last several decades, Dolores explains that she’s had the privilege of getting to know of hundreds of women. “I have been honored to be a part of or witness to such significant times in the lives of my clients and friends, including births, deaths, weddings, divorces, kids, and grandkids. It has been and continues to be a beautiful journey,” she says. “Women are just the soul of the earth. I feel very grateful to have an expanded tribe of soul sisters.” In

Sonoma, Dolores says the tribe of women in business is strong and vibrant. “People always say that Sonoma is such a nurturing, charming, and special place, and I really believe that the women entrepreneurs here are why,” she says. “And what a testament to the men in this community that support this! I always say that in most families, the mother is the heart of the family and the father is the foundation.”
As she embraces this new chapter of her life, Dolores is finding humor in the latest plot twist. “I try my best to ride the wave with as much grace and lightheartedness as possible,” she says. “I’ve never found sitting in anger or sadness or regret is very helpful to me.” This attitude, combined with the camaraderie of her supportive friends and family, is giving her courage and determination to make the next years of her life is beautiful, magical, and full of adventure.
