In this project, one explored the physical, cultural, and experiential legacy of the agricultural heritage of the Black Belt. Through research and site investigation, one builds an understanding of place and how productive landscapes can both shape and ameliorate the environment, while also enriching local, site-based investments through tourism.
TANG LED IN A COTTAGE
Leveraging the analytical maps and collaborative site studies, the final phase of the project focus on the design of two residential units, one single occupancy and one double occupancy.

“In this model, the usage and conjunction of symmetrical pieces elaborates the renewal of architectural buildings.”
The first depiction of the building represents the perception of symmetry through the infrastructure of each door, window, wall, and column. The juxtaposition of elements helps the building function independently and dependently. Independently because each piece has its own meaning and function; dependently because the totality and symmetry of the building is needed in order to understand its context and formation. Each precise cut is followed by the constant imaginary lines of the overall “SIS Building” in London; identified as an extensive massed structure.

A distinct perception of color composition, juxtaposition, and combination makes this exercise e ective. Interconnecting and alternating di erent hue and saturation makes distinct objects appear closer or farther away from the image. Understanding shadows in three-dimensional work interconnects with the usage of a distinct and vivid color scheme represented in this project The precise triadic color palette depicted certain overall elements that make the composition and its background unique.
In this model, the mass structure creates an illusion of color-blocking, texture, and juxtaposition.
With the correlation of mass and perception, a denser surface which includes interlocking, overlapping, and lifting creates the illusion of bright and vivid mass composition. Furthermore, expanding, scaling, and rotating transmits a monotone scheme with the usage of lighter and almost colorless objects.
In this model, the composition created by the folded paper enhances a defined structure.
In the continuous plane, each cut, fold, and division make an impressive illusion of a continuous plane perception influenced by direct and indirect lighting In this model, color enhances the overall fixture, elevation, and deepness.
In this model, the overall structure created by the primary grid allows local symmetry and geometry to stand out.
The formation of the principal grid enhances the geometric and abstract composition made with dowels. An overall grid perception is represented in the whole fixture creating the allusion of infinity, continuity, and expanded dimension. Several barcodes in the lower surface of the composition transmit the color “break” or pronounced di erence of grid perception.
